I'm out on Dickert. Eck or bust in my mind.

Boosters have a lot of say in this. Gone are the days of Shalala and Richter.

The money guys want results for their $33 Million, combined with a much easier schedule that last season.

No interest at all? Interesting.

Hope the boosters pour in all that money. Also, hope Eck makes good this year.

Considering what he got when he took over for the 1990 season, Barry did pretty well against OSU. Probably a better record than any other coach in that time period.

11/6/1993, 14-14 tie. Grrrr. Typical ending to these freaking games: Badgers shut Buckeye offense down all freaking day, then Joey Galloway torches the Badgers secondary for 88 of 99 yards (Galloway in on three of the four plays) in the dying minutes to tie the game. Badgers have a 32-yard field goal to win it with seven seconds to go...but a walk-on kicker taking his third ever attempt in a game, and it's blocked.

Barry did have a good record against OSU. As impressive as the W/L, he didn't get blown out much. First two seasons were rough (but the Badgers were terrible), after that, only a couple that got away--and Wisconsin had one the other way, too ('99, scoring 42 unanswered after trailing 17-0--in Columbus).

...

And now we're hoping to beat Minnesota.

We were in Columbus for the 42-17 beatdown. Badgers were down 17-0 at the half, and OSU fans were relentlessly dogging on the Badgers and their fans.

Then they all left early.

Haven't been back since. No need to.

I was listening to it on the radio as I drove from Clarksville, where my commander was an OSU fan, to visit my Badger buddies in Chicago. Good day.

This kind of recruit doesn't happen very much in Wisconsin. I think the last composite 5* was an OL in 2019 and he was a bust. Maybe a 2021 OL - also a bust.

Last 5* hit would be OT Josh Oglesby in 2007, but he did not live up to 5* status. All-B1G RT his senior year. Most thought he'd be an AA and 1st round pick. Nope.

Washington had been the favorite for him up until a couple of weeks ago. He loved Madison.
