Ice that elbow and roll out the cliches for the reporters.  Job well done.

Best baseball movie IMHO.  I once was on a plane from London to NYC with Nuke over in 1A, I was in 1C.  Dude is taller than me.  Not much of an athlete though.

Last night was my son's last night in my house before college.

He's sticking around this evening to go out for his sister's birthday dinner, but after that he'll go back to his mom's overnight because they're leaving early tomorrow to go move him in.

I know I should be feeling something right now, but I think I'm just shoving it down because I don't know how to deal with it... But I think I'm going to either face that one when he leaves tonight, or when his siblings wake up tomorrow morning and he's not here.

It's weird...

I hear ya.  Next Thursday will be our last night with our daughter before college.  And although I know she'll be back for holidays and it's likely she'll move back in with us for the next couple of summers, it's not the same.  It'll never be the same.  She will never "live with" us again.  And it's right, and it's appropriate, and it's what she will need for her future, but it's still surreal and difficult to imagine for me.  We've been the majority of her world for the past almost-19 years, and we're now at the point where it's time for her to leave us and begin finding out how to make her own way.

I'm proud, I'm overwhelmed, and I'm devastated.  And, I wouldn't and couldn't have it any other way.
