He was getting a little stale in Salt Lake. He finally relented on NIL after going 2-7 in their inaugural Big 12 season in 2024. He dominated the Holy War for a while, but has dropped the last three in that series.

like the hire all things considered.

For some reason they seemed dead set on Kalen DeBoer- which was always a pipe dream and retarded waste of time.

Jesse Minter was never leaving the NFL.

They bungled the hit on Dillingham.

Timing was of the essence and options weren’t great.

Wittingham will be a stabilizing force and right the ship. He will bring integrity and character to the whole operation and his teams are always tough, physical on defense and committed to running the football.

As good of a hire as they could’ve gotten considering the situation.
I think this is the best outcome of all, in my opinion. The others mentioned didn't do much for me.

If he can groom a successor, even better.

Couldn’t agree more.  Minter would have been more of the same and has “stains” from the multiple scandals. Michigan needed a total, clean break.
Daboer would have been a guess/ not sure why the hype?

Michigan got a proven winner.   A guy who builds the kind of physical football that Michigan likes.

But most importantly - the guy has universal respect and credibility among coaches and media.  Just saying- when is the last time you you could say that about the UM coach.  You have to go back to Lloyd Carr.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

I'm just looking forward to the @Mdot21 pivot:

Old: "Yeah, we cheated, we got away with it, and we won the natty, suckers! F the feckless NCAA and screw all the whiny OSU fans that didn't think of cheating first!"

New: "Whittingham exemplifies the high character and ethics that the Harvard of the West has always been known for. We've always been beyond reproach, not like that football team masquerading as a university down in Columbus. Michigan: doing it the right way since the beginning."

there will never be such a pivot.

sign stealing is way over blown. it is not the advantage idiots on here think it is. most who know ball actually laugh at idiots who get hysterical about it.

the line about Wittingham bringing stability and integrity to the operation was an obvious shot at that degenerate fuck Sharon Moore Dick and the bumbling incompetent fuckstick who hired him who inexplicably still has a job- Warde Manuel.
