What do schools do with all of their Big Ten media/bowl money? Why does Wisconsin FB have to nickel and dime their way along? It's not like they are getting a reduced share, like Oregon and Washington.

It’s about McIntosh’s confidence in Fickell’s plan for the future!?! What about his plan for the last three years? I sure as shooting’ don’t have any confidence in that pile of stink.

Number 1!!!

Matt Brown
@MattBrownEP
good morning

I filed dozens of FOIAs to see what schools were selling the most booze at football games, both in raw numbers and per capita.

who was number one? Obviously Wisconsin. By a LOT. But here's the rest of our data:
HA! One Poster - "At some point we’re just going to have to admit that the state of Wisconsin has a serious problem" UNL was right on their heels

The thing is it apears the list is headed by programs in the upper midwest. But that's understandable being a Browns Fan all my life

They were able to live on the cheap for a long time, getting 20 walk-ons and recruiting in-state maulers on the lines and cherry-picking skill guys from all over the country.

At last check, the AD was sending $12-15 Million to the academic side (that will certainly drop now, as profits drop - maybe that will get their attention?!?).

NIL changed everything and they weren't ready for it. Other schools have been paying players for years, so they were ready.

Barry was on a podcast last week, talking about how he got Ho Chunk casinos to contribute $5 Million to the AD. The now-dead Chancellor took $4 Million of it and left Barry with $1 Million for the AD. Just one of many examples.

There is no institutional alignment in Madison.

They had it when Donna Shalala was Chancellor, hired Pat Richter as AD, who hired Barry Alvarez and Stu Jackson as coaches.

Donna knew the importance of strong athletics and how it related to the students and alumni.

The current Chancellor was Dean of the Law School at UCLA. What the F does she know about athletics and facilities, besides jack shit?

I could go on, but I think that's enough for now.

For Saturday's game against Washington. These prices were unheard of, since 1989.

Badger fans would gladly take Cooper (Buckeye reject) over Ickell (Buckeye reject).

I have to ask:

you openly acknowledge that the school has not been aligned on sports and especially on football. You acknowledge that they were not prepared for the NIL era and the recruiting and portal work that goes with it. But you still seem to think it’s about how horrible the coaches are?

wouldn’t you agree that there wouldn’t be much difference with any other coach given the school’s lack of preparedness for the stupid way college football has gone?
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

well, the head coach is responsible for NIL and the recruiting and portal work that goes with it
