coach is gone and pretty easy to find a place that pays better

maybe the Hoosiers need a safety?
They do in fact need one, or two. They signed 4* Byron Baldwin out of high school and he could be pretty good. But he's a freshman.

A lot of smoke saying Cal QB Fernando Mendoza will land at IU. His brother is a true freshman QB at IU.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Matt Rhule and the Nebraska football team made a splash in the transfer portal on Thursday, landing 5-star defensive end Williams Nwaneri.

The news broke on X in a post from On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

The 19-year-old freshman entered the transfer portal Thursday afternoon with a “no contact tag” and committed to the Huskers hours later.

On3 has Nwaneri rated as a 98.84, making him the highest-rated recruit to commit to Nebraska since the rating system began.

The 6-foot-6 defensive end went to high school at Lee’s Summit North in Missouri. His head coach was Jamar Mozee, who is now on Nebraska’s staff.

Besides the Huskers getting back Emmett Johnson and Keona Davis, this is the first portal commit for Rhule and the Huskers this offseason.

Transfer Portal drama breaks new ground - a player demands 1) guaranteed starting position at OLB, 2) guaranteed to play on 3rd downs, & 3) more snaps in the rotation.

"On Tuesday, Florida edge rusher Jack Pyburn entered the transfer portal...Rumors swirl regarding Pyburn's reason for departing the Swamp delve into the absurd. Everything from financial as well as playing time demands."

He wants $45k/month but: "One sack from an edge defender allegedly asking for $45,000 thousand dollars every thirty days seems steep."

The bigger headscratcher is how is it possible for a player's NIL to dictate in-game coaching? Pyburn's NIL guarantee to play on 3rd down intrudes itself into the actual game plan! How is a coaching staff supposed to track numerous NIL stipulations when they're trying to stop a game winning drive?!?!

Imagine reenlisting in the Navy under the condition that you don't have to be on watch during the first few days your assigned ship pulls into port.

Good on the Gators for saying No Thanks(!) to Pyburn and whoever he's taking unrealistic advice from.

Not a chance, I hope he gets zero offers from anywhere.

he should also move positions to RB, TE, or H-Back. Try them all out and go with whatever he picks up fastest/suites him best.

If I'm him, I'm honestly reaching out to RichRod and WVU and telling them he can be dynamic in their offense, which I think he could be. If he was at RB in an option offense, he would make some great plays. Lining him up at QB and never letting him throw so it's a guaranteed run is the dumbest option possible for him.

Iowa gets a commitment from Auburn QB Hank Brown from the portal.

With Cade McNamara and Marco Lainez transferring from Iowa,  OC Tim Lester has cleaned house at QB from the Brian Ferentz era.

Iowa still has Brendan Sullivan and Jackson Stratten at QB,  which Tim Lester recruited.
