CBS,David Cobb:

Julian Sayin's 80.7% completion rate is impressive enough on its own. What makes it remarkable is how he's doing it. Ohio State's redshirt freshman quarterback isn't inflating his numbers with checkdowns and swing passes.

Sure, the Buckeyes' scheme features plenty of short throws. But where Sayin truly separates himself is in his deep-ball accuracy. He's 20 of 27 on passes traveling 20 or more air yards, according to TruMedia -- an absurd figure even by practice standards.

---------------------------------
Pretty good take IMO he doesn't have deep stike capabilities of a Stroud,Fields or Haskins. But deadly accurate on the medium stuff and probably only rivaled(so far) in accuracy by Stroud

Any one hear anything about the injured WR tandem of Smith & Tate? I'm guessing Day/Hartline are resting them for precautionary measures not wanting to risk injury. So maybe getting players healthy for a run and not against over matched opponents but Tate hasn't played since Nov. 1st V PSU. I'm guessing they might want to get him some game snaps to shake off the rust.

And Smith just missed the 2nd half last week so he prolly won't see the field unless things go side ways. Like someone said on 11W it's slippery slope argument,so they'll be avoiding contact drills during the week for sure. It's also likely Tate's last opportunity to play in the Shoe, so it's possible he'll want to go if he can at least for a quarter and a cutain call. But Innis, Klare and Graham looked good in their place when on the field so we have that going for us 😎

I have no evidence but I suspect they are both done for a while, or longer.

I'd like to know why Mylon Graham wasn't on the field until late in the 3rd Qtr. Then tOSUs no 3 receiver Brandon Innis gets hurt with the game well in hand :banghead:. Good to see James Peoples getting some snaps, had a nice 49 yd TD dash

Some posters on the Buckeye board brought up why Lincoln Kienholz at 6'3" 235 wasn't in on the QB sneaks.

"Sayin isnt winning the Heisman there is no need to pad his stats or keep him in on super short. The qb sneak is almost automatic 4 feet gain, even in college when everyone knows its coming. Two fails in a row, its not the play. Julian is really skilled in lots of ways and let him focus on that. Should actually let Klienholz contribute in a way thats not ideal or even needed to sub for Sayin. Two games in a row Sayin went too low in those sneaks, I didn't mind the play but the execution on his part was terrible. Against stouter fronts, he doesn't get the push necessary."

I agree in '23 Day did it with Devin Brown subbing for McCord and why risk injury in the scrum to the starting QB?

Can OSU cut Hartline loose, and sign Chip Kelly for the playoffs?

Lincoln Kienholz could have saved the hypesman for Sayin

Doubt that Menoza earned his spurs, absolutely got plastered in the 1st series and shook it off - Respekt. Maybe in the off season Day will shop for a few trench oxen instead of show ponies

Day's only transgression is not putting in a fat QB that could run a sneak

incidentally, on both drives in the red zone.... on 3rd and short, they tried to get cute and toss a pass.  Then QB sneak, next time missed FG.

Why not run it on 3rd down????

because you don't have the trench ponies????  probably.  No confidence
