Saw this on another board "I'm glad we have survived our long national nightmare of the Patriots not being deep in the playoffs"

The NFL has three god-tier franchises: Cowboys, Packers, and Steelers. And McCarthy gets to coach all three???

Pittsburgh hiring McCarthy brings up the question whether the Steelers front office had any idea Tomlin was walking away. This is the type of hire made by a front office caught off guard and unprepared for a coaching search.

McCarthy's career has coasted on talented rosters. McCarthy's offenses weren't geared their personnel strengths; he instead insisted on establishing a running attack when the talent didn't often match the scheme.

Watching this last decade of Steelers football felt like watching a team going through the motions. Pittsburgh finally moves on from nearly two decades of Tomlin and then goes out and hires a coach (McCarthy) whose coaching is best defined as going through the motions.
How do you leave New England off that list?

this. especially if they win this SB- it'd be 7 wins and 12 trips. that is pretty insane. Lions haven't even been once. :'(
