game is probably meaningless anyways. Lions ain't making the playoffs. they had to have that win at home thanksgiving vs Green Bay. didn't get that win. most likely on the outside looking in now.

I should think they can probably still lose one more to LA, and get in

Feels like the NFL needs to do something about how easy FGs are.  2 first downs, FG range.

Id say get rid of the special kicker balls, and go to the college hash marks, and see how that changes things

Can someone explain the history of the hash mark disparity? I assume there's some reason it's wider in college than the NFL, but I have no clue why...

First off, they used to be even wider in college than they are now (same with the uprights).  that change was l992.

pros want more balance,  NCAA favored offense w greater strong/weakside opportunities.  I remember reading hashmarks debuted in an early 1930s pro football game played indoors.   I also recall NFL changed their hashmarks in the early 70s which is when they were then narrower than college.

I will tell you the Option offenses loved wide hasmarks.   college of course is older than pro ball, and until the late 50s/into 60s, college was a bigger deal.

special balls for each offense is foolish
the officiating squad should provide the 5 or 6 game balls
no deflate gate

Well, now it seems like Brian Branch is out for the year.

Facing Matthew Stafford down 3/4 of your starting secondary (and seems like all 3 are done for the year), might be 63-42

its just silly to have special balls for these big babies

a couple balls for each punter, a couple balls for the place kickers, a couple balls for the kickoff legs, a handful of balls for each QB

If you use FPI to predict out the season, you get a season finale of 10-6 Detroit at 10-6 Chicago for the #7 seed.

Granted the winner will just get blasted in Lambeau Field the next week, but the storylines there will really be something.

Ever since picking up Quinnen Williams, the Cowboys seemed to have turned the corner a bit on defense.  Then they go right back to getting mauled on the line and crap tackling.  Seems like they're missing a mental toughness since Dan Quinn went to Washington.

I totally forgot they were playing last night.

Glad I missed it.

All you missed was the resident Lions fan calling the second most penalized team in the league the NFL's favorite daughter.
