I idly wonder if Tyler Shough is the answer the Saints are looking for.

Looking at the playoff bracket, I'll probably be "rooting" (quotes very intentional and imbued with all appropriate connotations typically associated with quoted words) for Denver, since that's the wife's second team, or side-team, since she spent a few years growing up in there in addition to mostly growing up near Dallas, and I can kind of piggy-back on her excitement like I try to do with the Cowboys.

But for myself, I'll probably be "rooting" for Houston, because I like Stroud.  I'm still stuck in NFL-limbo, where I have no real fandom, but rather I latch onto players I enjoy watching.  I couldn't tell you exactly why, but I like CJ Stroud, and the next part I probably can articulate it, I like watching him play.  I hope I don't find out he's a complete jerk, but he doesn't strike me as one.

If Houston can get past the Steelers, looks like they'll face Denver, in which case I might openly root for Houston and embellish my interest just to antagonize the missus.

What kind of fan are you if you don't follow a team through good times and bad?  What would even be the point?

I suppose there are plenty of frontrunning "fans" out there.  My nephew was a Baltimore Ravens fan back when they had murderers on the team and were winning a lot.  Then he was a New England Patriots fan for a decade or something.  Now who knows, I guess he was a Chiefs fan and maybe an Eagles fan?

What's even the point of that?

Jimmy Hasbeen has canned Kevin Stefanski, two-time NFL Coach of the Year, instead of implicating himself and his lapdog Andrew Barry who have kept the Browns at the bottom of the barrel.Jimmy is maybe the biggest POS owner  in the NFL. Coach had nothing to do with eviscerating the franchise in one of the worst trades in the history of the league for Deshelved Watson who had a 1,000 rap counts hanging over his head for grouping women. Ya no catches there as far as rubes can see.

The Browns gave up so much that the Houston Texans are in playoffs. And after listening to about 10 seconds of Jimmy's presser trying to paint himself other than the steaming pile that he is well was too much. That guy that brought in a 28 yr old rookie QB Brandon Weedon, then after that the spaz Johnny Football who fizzled out faster than a dime store sparkler. The jokes write themselves in that shabby hamlet of unhinged halfwits that is the Browns Front Office

Good Luck as the next coach of the New York Giants Coach Stefanski

The Browns are definitely on the short list for the worst-managed NFL Team...NY Jets being the only real competition imo.

Few NFL teams embody dysfunction better than the Cleveland Browns, which has a league low three postseason appearances since 2000.

New York Jets

The foundation that Parcells built here was a successful one in the 2000s as the New York Jets rode it to six postseason appearances between 2001 and 2010. New York hasn't gotten back to the playoffs since the 2010 AFC Championship Game, however, with its 14-season postseason drought the longest active one in the league by 7 years over Carolina and Atlanta.

I agree with your sentiment, but as bad as JJ is, he nowhere near Cleveland bad.

I mean, the Raiders just fired their third coach in a row prior to completing 2 seasons.

In fact, with the exception of Jon Gruden (two 4 year stints, one resulting in them trading him away and the other resulting in them firing his ass), they haven't had a head coach go more than 3 seasons with the team in more than 30 years now.
