Nebraska only had 4 players on the court during that deep play?

I think on a best of 7 tournament, Arizona would win.  I thought that before the tournament, and they have just reinforced that feeling. which probably means they are going to lose tonight, and that does not change my opinion

Man, that Texas/Purdue game was brutal. I'm not one to complain about refs after a loss, because that's just whining. But after a win, I feel like I can objectively say it was one of the weirdest officiated games I've ever seen.

They swallowed their whistles early, and the players on both sides recognized it and started flat out mugging each other. The refs might have realized what was going on and called fouls later in the game on the bigs, but it was too little, too late. I swear it might as well have been a football game, the level of un-called contact I was seeing out there.

I'm not even trying to say it was biased. Although I can admit that Texas got into foul trouble faster in the second half than Purdue did, I also saw PLENTY of uncalled fouls on them. And even as a biased fan I saw quite a few uncalled Purdue fouls too.

Anyone else watch the game and have a similar thought? @utee94 -- what was your take?

I'm just glad Purdue got out of it with a win, and without injury. And props to Texas' Tramon Mark for gutting it out and playing through that rolled ankle. I'm sure that hurts like hell this morning.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday denied the NCAA’s motion for a temporary restraining order to stop DraftKings from using registered trademarks associated with its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

The complaint for trademark infringement, filed in the Southern District of Indiana last week, requested that DraftKings stop using “March Madness,” “Final Four,” “Elite Eight” and “Sweet Sixteen” and variations of those terms to promote its business.

Judge Tanya Walton Pratt ruled the NCAA did not show how the online sports wagering platform’s use of the terms would cause irreparable harm.

“With further discovery the NCAA may be able to show they are entitled to a preliminary or permanent injunction, and those claims remain pending,” Pratt wrote.

DraftKings has been using “March Madness” and other familiar terms to refer to the NCAA Tournament for more than five years and has the legal right to do so, the sportsbook said in a court filing Wednesday in response to a complaint filed by the NCAA last week.

Oh they definitely swallowed the whistles.  In general I prefer that over calling ticky tack stuff.  I didn't feel like it was biased one way or the other.  The Horns got into foul trouble quicker because they just weren't as good as Purdue on a player per player basis, and when you're fouling to make up for a talent gap, that's the way it goes.  It was a fun game to watch, other than the outcome of course.

I'm really proud of this Texas team.  They played way over their heads and beat a lot of teams this year that they really had no business beating.  I'm hopeful that once Sean Miller gets a full recruiting cycle in, they'll improve even more.  Theoretically this should be the worst team he ever fields at Texas.

The B1G is looking great in this tournament.  We already have three teams in the E8 with two more to play (one a big favorite, one a slight underdog) and we already have a guaranteed slot in the F4 because the South Region Championship Game is an all-B1G affair.

Miami rides their terrible brand of basketball to a comfortable win
Let's review:

They won a de facto home game over an 11-seed.  Then they lost by 22 points to an 11-7 SEC team.  The loss was as an 11-seed to a 6-seed so expected but compare to the other 11-seeds:
  • Texas was a 2 point underdog to BYU and won by 8, overperformed by 10
  • VCU was a 2.5 point underdog to UNC and won by 4, overperformed by 6.5
  • USF was a 4.5 point underdog to Louisville and lost by 3, overperformed by 0.5
  • Miami was an 11.5 point underdog to Tennessee and lost by 22, underperformed by 10.5

The proof that they didn't belong and certainly shouldn't have been an 11-seed is the fact that they were BY FAR the biggest underdog of the 11-seeds and still managed to perform even worse than expected.

Their brand of basketball isn't "terrible" but they simply aren't on the same level as even middling power conference teams.
