OKC is a good spot for the Huskers - a bit over 6 hour drive from Lincoln

Well, I guess present something that isn't silly and I can respond to it. But just repeating NO QUAD 1 WINS 400 times and expecting that to do the work just ain't cutting it.
You've quoted Torvik for years. When I do it, it is silly?

@bayareabadger made an actual point, WAB. I disagree because that undervalues SoS but at least it is a point.

Let me ask you, BAB, is there ANY limit to your 31 wins is in?

What if some team from one of the weakest leagues went 31-1 with a complete crap OOC and ended up 200+ in NET/KenPom/Torvik and at that point I think that even their WAB would be 75+. What then?

Does schedule matter at all?

Jumping on an old Medina hobby horse, there are nine tournament teams east of West Texas (next most east is from Fargo or Dallas).

No need to send 16 teams to PST.
I'll do my annual data-driven post on this soon. I sort by timezone and historically there are enough MST/PST teams to barely justify ONE MST/PST first round site which is why EVERY year a bunch of EST and CST teams get screwed.

Suppose there's the quality element too.

Doesn't look like anyone but Gonzaga and Arizona is higher than a 6? Then one six, a few sevens, a nine and a ten.

If they didn't have as good of resume metrics and were in the 200s, wouldn't consider them.

Shoot, if the bubble was more passable, might've left em out this year.

I track top-4 seeds on the theory that they deserve priority locations so I don't bother with 5-16 seeds at all because if Ohio State (8 seed) gets shipped out west that is their fault for being a #8.

Usually a few eastern #4's get hosed.

It would be interesting to know how many EST teams made the 16, 8 and/or final 4 from the west region

Yes. It's silly because you already know that I know what Torvik says about Miami and near everyone else. My point was that going undefeated in the regular season is rare, and difficult, and teams that do it should be celebrated and I don't care what the fancystats says about them.

While I like fancystats and think they are great tools, they shouldn't be used to override the results of games. Results matter over everything. Further, the NCAA tourney is great because it gets teams like Miami over teams like Auburn. If you are going to have a regular season, then the winners should get in over the losers at the end of the day. That's what makes sports great. Not letting in losers no matter what they do.

For a minute it felt like UW often ended up out West a lot as a 5 paired with another eastern team. But then then on closer inspection, it was a bit more diverse.

Not college basketball.

18-17  Prairie View
18-16  Lehigh
18-14  Texas
18-13  NC State
All in the tournament.

Mediocrity celebrated.
