Oh, and we'll be driving, so there will be some transport available for another couple if we stay nearby.  I'm a Hilton member, probably will use that chain.
Hampton by Vandy is good.

Well, November 9th it is!
Until a better date is suggested.
I'm in!
Well, that means I will have to do some saving up to go to this - my first ever!  Plus it's on my 70th birthday, so I just gotta, ya know!  Maybe I can talk my daughter and son-in-law to come down from Kentucky.  Biggest problem will be getting my hubby to agree to go; he is really not a social animal of any kind and definitely not sports minded either.  Any suggestions for a good museum or two he could go to?

The state Capitol is actually kind of a museum.  It's pretty neat I thought.

I've heard that there are many things to do in that area.

Hope you can make it

Silly me, I didn't even think of the Grand Ol Opry, lol.  That would be fun (for me, at least)- Hubby is really into natural history museums and things like that, so I will have to check into what all is around there.  Keeping fingers crossed that my health issues do not throw a kink into the works; I'd like to make a long vacation out of it and drive to Civil War sites and into Kentucky to check out Argabright Hollow, which according to family history was named after one of my ancestors who built Argabright Fort there.  Then again, being as it's going to be winter, I wouldn't be one bit surprised that we'll all be frozen solid or hunkering down for the next blizzard.

November 9th isn't too deep into winter - usually, hopefully

Franklin is a great place to go see Civil War stuff. About an hour away.

Carnton House was amazing.

Oh, and while in Franklin, eat at Puckett's. Best fried chicken ever.

Sounds like y'all are gonna have a blast!

On 11/9 I'll be schlepping marching band equipment on and off the field at the Alamodome for a super-regional high school marching band competition.  Wish me luck!

We went to the Grand Ol' Opry a while back and my wife loved it, definitely wants a return visit.  I thought it was kind of throw back interesting.

One fellow was pretty good.

So you’re talking November 9th in Nashville correct?

what are you thinking- get in Friday out on Sunday?
