This is like the downplaying of Tebow's 30 pass TD/20 rush TD season.....if it was so ho-hum, why hadn't anyone else done it?

Ask an NFL RB if he has 4,000 carries in him.  Ask Adrian Peterson if he has 1,200 more in him.  They'll laugh at you.  No other RB in NFL history has 4,000 carries, and Emmitt has 4,400.  Any of those grown-ass men will tell you that a ton of NFL carries isn't a dig at Emmitt, but one of his most impressive records.

Ask Walter/Barry if they had the Cowboys line to run behind.Not only that they also had a passing game to free up the run.Kinda helps when the guys around you win 3 titles in 6 yrs.Emmitt was grinder though I'll give him that and a class act to boot. He did benifit coming in young with a group who matured together and became stars. But the other two played on some less than stellar squads that he would have been hard pressed to match their efforts - glad we got that sorted

this is true, it's an impressive record for longevity and being lucky not to be injured
usually not the stat that grown-ass men go to when speaking about all-time greats at any position
