Upset weekend. Top 25s Notre Dame, A&M, and Wisconsin all lose to unranked teams at home…
Maybe the portal has made say the top 60 as strong as its ever been. Its easier to patch up a big hole w/ a 21 year old than an 18 year old kroot. Seems like if you have a bad game against an "inferior" opponent they can take you out.

NFL style records to college football might be more of a thing these days.

Poor UNL faithfull filled that stadium up rain/shine for how many seasons?Only to be served repeatedly a shyt sammich,Lincoln is a hard draw now the glory days a generation removed. They have great facilities and openings so it still has to be on decent prospects radar but damn who thought when Callahan was faffing things up things would get this dismal? Hopefully they can resurrect the froth for the once proud Sooners rivalry.Maybe even up end The Fighting Flecks/Michigan/Wisconsin/IOWA

Watching the OSU Arkansas State recap. Something I've not seen before. When the AS QB would do a hard snap, pulling the aggressive OSU lineman into the neutral zone, multiple AS linemen would systematicly all 'flinch' the same way. The all would take a half step back, raise hands up then quickly move to accusing the defensive person from making them more. Multiple offensive lineman would react the same way like they were trained to false flinch to get the easy 5 yards. Two of the penalties the OSU lineman was moving back into place before the delayed flinch took place and got the penalty.

Has a rule changed? Are other schools employing this tactic? Or am I just living in an OSU bubble, and this has been the normal for a while now?

Didn't catch the contest seems like a well rehearsed ruse that opponents may keep on emplying until called

If a defender's move into the neutral zone causes the offense to false start, it's a penalty on the defense.  I don't think an extra half-second matters.  That lack of a time component may be what they're taking advantage of.

yup, so O-linemen should be coached up to move if the defender moves into the neutral zone
saw something explainable in the Husker game last night........  Husker corner just reaches across the neutral zone and puts his hand on the WR's shoulder pad before the snap

couldn't even wait for the play to begin before grabbing the guy!!!

This is such a terrible rule.  The o-line has the advantage of knowing the snap count.  The d-line does not, so has always been able to counter that by jumping, but then getting back onsides, if the ball doesn't snap. As long as the defender doesn't touch anyone, it was okay, and that was a reasonable concession.

O-linemen were coached to have line discipline and only move on the snap of the ball.  If the defender did jump and hit you, that was fine, because then you got the benefit of the penalty yards.  I played o-line for years and gladly took plenty of hits from over-eager d-linemen who jumped offside and hit me.  Thanks for the free yards, mate.

The one time that happened to me and it was a real hit, I fell back and kept my stance from my back.  Got some laughs.....and those free 5 yards.

You might be reading too much into one weekend.

That said it was an odd weekend to be sure. I think that #10 USC was the highest ranked team to cover their spread with multiple top-10 teams losing to unranked opponents.
