Dec.18, 2021 DURHAM, N.C.—Morningside overcame two different seven-point deficits and three turnovers to score the final 17 points of the NAIA Football National Championship to win its third title in four years.

The Mustangs finished the year with a perfect 14-0 record after defeating Grand View 38-28.

Boring Myrtle Beach Bowl going on. Field is the color of radiator fluid spilt onto shag carpeting. That or that Baja Blast Mountain Dew flavor only available at Taco Bell.

I can't think of one Tulsa game I've ever watched. 23-10 Tulsa leading Old Dominion in the 4th Q.

I feel like Tulsa had a fun upset of someone in recent years. Maybe late in the game they came out in a jumbo set and drew a game-winning offside on 4th and short?

FCS NCG will be Montana St and N Dakota St, a "border war" between two schools over 800 miles apart.

Tulsa is just one of the blandest group of five schools. They are always fine, seemingly never more, never less.   I honestly don't think I could name a single player. They've put in the league, but they are better than a couple dozen programs that I definitely could. MSU played them in the opener a few years ago, and I think held them to some obscene negative amount of yards.

Also, would it kill them to have a 16 team group of five playoff? All of these bowl games are interchangeable.

Higher Scoring first half between Kent State (24) and Wyoming (21) on the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl's blue field in Boise.

As extraneous and interchangeable as this bowl is at least the name (Potato Bowl) and sponsorship (Famous Idaho Potatoes brand) is a sensible geographic fit.

The internet tells me Gus Frerotte went there.

I remember they had some hell for leather Gus Mahlzahn and Chad Morris offenses. They've had like five 10-win seasons since 2007, but you're right, all are pretty quiet.

I think Todd Graham got the ball rolling there?  He put up some big numbers, but they were never even really a threat for a BCS bowl.  They were seemingly like 9-3 every year.

They had an insane number of alternate helmet decals, all of which were a script "Tulsa" with two thin outlines.

Interesting game tonight as Mizzou and one of the worst rush defenses in the country takes on Army.
