calling my shot now….Urban will flirt with them but ultimately leave them at the alter and they’ll wind up hiring Bill O’Brien bc he’s been rehabbed by Saban.
This just might be what happens - a humbled B-O-B back on the CFB Sidelines

Frost was never a sure thing, just viewed as great hire at the time- kinda like RichRod to Michigan.
Good comparison

I never thought RR was a good hire for Michigan.

I think the uproar and the manor in which he left Morgantown affected him. At least initially

Comparing apples to oranges.

Urban and Saint Nick the only sure things in this sport. That’s it.

agreed

any thought Frost was as close to a sure thing as possible in Lincoln a few years ago.

the list of sure thing coaching hires is close to 2 as you have noted.

As of 2020, no school in the country spent more money paying off football and men’s basketball coaches since 2005 than the Huskers.

May be an image of text that says '$20M NEBRASKA' ~$50 MILLLION IN PAYOUTS SINCE 2005 $15M $10M $5M $OM FROST CALLAHAN BO PELINI RILEY MOOS SCOTT BILL MIKE STAFFS PEDERSON EICHORST BILL SADLER/MILES & STEVE SHAWN HUSK ER EXTRA'

I think both of them were destined to get the boot at some time

It's just that at the time they were booted, a better option wasn't secured

with Frost's record, it will be hard for the next guy to do worse.

Of course that's what was thought when Riley was booted

Trev Alberts' legacy will hinge on who he hires as his football coach.  I'm sure he's fully aware of this.

I know everyone thinks he's a scumbag and he probably is- but Urbs sure af can coach and recruit some college football. I'd love to see him in Nebraska. He'd put the West on notice and just make the B1G that much stronger. Plus his run first style spread tailor made for Nebraska. He finds himself another jesus loving FB playing QB- he could make the Cornhuskers real good real fast. Doubt it happens though.

Urban has baggage but I agree that he could change the direction of Nebraska's football program immediately.  Not so sure I want to see him in the Big Ten again.

It will be Burt. He's the only candidate that would be leaving for greener pastures if he went to Nebraska. The rest have all built their current programs into much better situations.

9-3 with a Burt type coach is probably their ceiling for now.

There is a great coach in Lawrence right now.
Perhaps but he's 2-10 right now even considering it is Kansas. If he closes with close games vs stout teams then perhaps
