Husker athletics will now be under the direct purview of NU system President Ted Carter rather than the UNL chancellor after a change approved* by the board of regents.

Nebraska Head Football Coach Matt Rhule chose to switch the outdoor practice fields from FieldTurf to grass because he believes it’s “safer” for players.

“Injuries are higher on turf than on grass,” Rhule said. “And when I came here, there had been a rash of knee injuries going into this season. There had been a bunch of ACLs over the last six years, a bunch of meniscus (tears). Football’s a violent game, but we already have turf in the indoor.” - https://bit.ly/HGTHuskerFootball

Fearless,
What do you anticipate will be the record of Nebraska in "Year One" of Matt Rhule's rule?
Will Matt Rhule replace the field turf in Memorial Stadium?

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Pioneer has been providing corn and soybeans across the Midwest for generations and it’s now getting into pigskin.

The company announced it’s the new sponsor of the annual rivalry game between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Iowa Hawkeyes.

With the new sponsorship, Pioneer plans to honor everyday heroes in the community and even plans to do so at the annual game.

One citizen hero will be selected to represent their respective team this November.

The winner will receive VIP treatment which includes being recognized on the field and having their name inscribed on the trophy.

Fans are encouraged to nominate people they think exemplify the characteristics of a hero to represent both Iowa and Nebraska.

Nominations are open until October 1, 2023.  You can submit someone by visiting https://huskers.com/hero
