Drop the championship game and add a tenth conference game.  More Big Ten games more income.
And yet, mo money mo problems

Shawn Eichorst now says Nebraska "will do everything possible to maintain our tradition* of playing games on the Friday after Thanksgiving."

Who would stand in the way of Nebraska and Black Friday? The Big Ten now has other Friday games.

I hope they at least discussed Black Friday before making the schedule.  Iowa seemed OK with it (but maybe they did not like ending every year on a Friday).  Maybe Minnesota is there because they would be most open to continuing Black Friday (but the schools would still have to agree so formally schedule that way so intial schedule is still for Saturday).

I have a feeling the new traditiin will be that Neb, Minn, Iowa, and Wisc will all end up playing on Black Friday every year, rotating the opponents every 2 years.

So in 2020-21,  both the Neb-Minn and Iowa-Wisc games will end up on a Black Friday double header.  That way at least 1 of the games will probably mean something and they can put the best game on ABC and the other game on FS1 or BTN.

Then in 2022-23 it will rotate and it will be Neb-Wisc and Iowa-Minn playing each other.

I had to open the .pdf in the original article to see other rivalry week games. Michigan State's rival in 2020 and 21 is . . . Maryland. Seems like Maryland and Rutgers are rotating Penn State as a rival for rivalry week.

A fine program that Michigan State, but as long as it has been in the conference it can't find a rival to disdain in rivalry week.
They are still Newbs.

UW is not going to want to play on that Friday. It's gun season and those who hunt are in trees that day. It's tough enough to get them to the Saturday games. You have it on Friday and the stadium will have 40K people in it.

They were the third wheel in UM-OSU, sort of like Iowa is to Wisconsin-Minnesota.
I think Penn State made sense, as manufactured as it felt.  Nebraska-Iowa made all the sense in the world.  So naturally they go and screw that up.
I liked the Penn State - Michigan State game, too.  They should have set up Rutgers and Maryland as rivals and left Penn State and Michigan State alone.

Yet there is no shortage of red in the stands Saturday despite firearms season ongoing.
And if the Gophers open at home, it will be THURSDAY before Labor Day weekend.

Lots of guys use up their tags on TG and Black Friday. That's why Saturday is best for that weekend in Madison.

sounds like Coach Riley would prefer to play on Saturday, but since he hasn't won anything yet, he will be out voted by the fans and donors of substance
