Winners to play in Peach Bowl
.
Alamo Bowl:  5 Texas A&M vs 12 Coastal Carolina (best rd1 match up)
Sun Bowl:  4 Notre Dame vs 13 North Carolina - unc still can't compete quite yet
Winners to play in Cotton Bowl
.
Music City Bowl:  6 Oklahoma vs 11 Indiana - ou on a tear
Holiday Bowl:  3 Ohio State vs 14 Northwestern - osu just better, convincing win
Winners to play in Fiesta Bowl
.
Liberty Bowl:  7 Florida vs 10 Iowa State - isu might put up fight, but motivated and ful roster uf just outpaces them
Outback Bowl:  2 Clemson vs 15 Iowa - clemson just way too much for iowa
Winners to play in Citrus Bowl
.
Winners of Peach & Cotton Bowls play in Orange Bowl
Winners of Fiesta & Citrus Bowls play in Sugar Bowl
.
Winners of Orange & Sugar Bowls play in Rose Bowl
Peach Bowl: 1 Alabama vs 9 Georgia - uga has regressed from last meeting and it didn't go well then

Cotton Bowl: 12 Coastal Carolina vs 4 Notre Dame - cinderella story ends here

Fiesta Bowl: 6 Oklahoma vs 3 Ohio State - (best rd2match up) again, ou on tear

Citrus Bowl: 7 Florida vs 2 Clemson - uf d can't stop tlaw and co, can't keep pace
.
.

Orange Bowl: 1 Alabama vs 4 Notre Dame - we'll see in a day or so

Sugar Bowl: 6 Oklahoma vs 2 Clemson (best rd3 matchup) - clemson plays game of year to beat ou

.
.

Rose Bowl: 1 Alabama vs 2 Clemson - clemson peaked 1 game too early, bama outlasts them in what has become an almost annual thriller.

Does anyone think there is much real pressure to expand the playoffs "soon"?

I don't.  I could see getting to six in a decade or so.  Maybe.

not much right now, but i could see pressure increasing in next 5 years to force it to 6-8. maybe a bigger effect is the changing environment of tv and streaming, and how that might effect contracts. i could see the lost interest in some "smaller" bowls getting the execs to try to bring viewers back by making them part of an expanded playoff.

Why stop at 6 or 8?  If we're going to be inclusive, just let everyone in.  16 teams.  4 different bowls/locations for the last 2 teams.  Let's get a "hot" 13 seed with 3 losses as national champ.  I can't wait!!!

Didn't the NCAA sign another contact with ESPN to broadcast 4 Team Play Off for a few more years

I'm not too interested in seeing some INFERIOR team winning a game because the SUPERIOR team's QB has a bad night and throws 3 INTs in the first quarter or something.

It's good that such a game has not yet happened this year.

Same thing happened to Georgia last year - half your team doesn't play and you lose.  It's the new normal.  Playoff or bust.
