Wonder if Notre Dame or some other big boys are going to come sniffing around MSU WR commit Alante Brown.  He was a 2* kid with offers from Cincinnati, Minnesota and MAC schools when MSU offered over the summer, got bumped to 4* by 247 today.

Michigan just offered 3* RB DJ Williams (5’11, 210) from Florida. Kid is an App State commit who has blown up in the last month of his senior season. He’s gotten offers from Georgia, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Texas, Tennessee, and South Carolina in the last month alone.

He’s the nephew of former Miami great Edgerrin James. He lives in a little rural town in the middle of nowhere Florida, which is probably how he fell through the cracks. His highlights are ridiculous. Plays QB in high school and his speed looks out of this world. Looks an awful lot like former 5*, #1 RB in HS Cam Akers who signed with Florida State and also played QB in HS and had ridiculous speed.

Probably gonna go to Miami but damn he’d be a great consolation prize for losing Eric Gray. Actually like his film better. He’s bigger, faster, and stronger than Gray.

Nebraska landed a commitment on Sunday from Jamin Graham, a three-star defensive recruit from Alabama.

Nebraska adds a defensive player with a lot of explosiveness and a frame that could grow from outside linebacker to defensive end. Graham is listed at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds and told Husker247 before the visit that he could play either spot in a college defense.

The defender is set to sign during the early December visit period. Previously, Graham was looking at visiting Southern Miss next weekend, but now things are quiet until he officially signs. The Huskers won the commitment of Graham over several other power five schools. The defender held offers from Minnesota, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Virginia.

Looks like Tennessee.  SEC East is about to get fun again, particularly if Stoops can keep Kentucky decent.
Maybe it's Tenne$$ee with all these commits they are getting to flip.   =)

Michigan RB commit Zach Charbonnet flies up the latest updated 247Composite rankings to 42nd overall in the nation- within striking distance of the coveted 5 STARZ. Charbonnet was ranked 408th in the nation in the very first 247Composite 2019 rankings which came out in August of 2017. He's flown up 366 spots in the 247Composite in large part because of major bumps by 247 and Rivals. After a dominant senior season, 247 moved him all the way up to 26th overall in their rankings and Rivals just bumped him to 39th overall in theirs. ESPN still holding his ranking down as they rank him somewhere in the 100's overall. He'll have a shot to move up, as he's playing in ESPN's HS All-Star Under Armour game, and they tend to rate guys who show well in those week of practices and that game.

I can already see the rhyming comparisons/puns/memes/bad one-liners from tv analysts about Wandale and Rondale. But I bet it'll be deserved. W.R. looks that good.

His film is that infinitely long kind of reel you don't want to watch because you're just going to end up more disappointed and as if you jinxed it when he goes elsewhere. I know Michigan has had a lot of 5-star RB flops, and I know we always say "Oh but this one's obviously different" and that's exactly what I'm doing this time - again. Still, he stands out in a crowd.

Pfft.

Jonathon Taylor was the 24th ranked RB in the country, and 371st ranked player. Now he is the best RB in the country and a top-10 player.

But STARZ!!! I just don't buy into that for RB (and OL).

Purdue was late in the running for Wandale when he chose Kentucky. I don't think we were ever a favorite, but we made the final 5 and got an OV. The analysts would have creamed themselves if he'd ended up on the same team as Rondale.
Really hoping that David Bell chooses Purdue. 247 has him 90% crystal ball to Purdue, and he plans to make his announcement at the Army All-American Game.

I think you expect I'd disagree with the spirit of your post. I wouldn't.
It's no secret that I favor starz more than you because they are so consistently predictive of success in aggregate. Perhaps less at RB and OL, though. Even then, I'm not convinced the correlation is absent for OL or RBs, just comparatively depressed.
But the rest of what you wrote is entirely consistent with both of our perspectives on recruiting.
