Markquese Bell was such a problem, that even the evil DJ Durkin suspended him.  He ended up going the JuCo route.

Just saw today that he picked up an offer from Scott Frost.  Not surprised.

He may have a bunch of people fooled, but I saw first hand his "culture" at UCF.

Eh, not many. He played for a guy who allowed a guy to do bad things and still play, and may have witnessed a bad thing himself while doing nothing about it. While Oz may have been correct on his assessment that LP needed a lot of help, he was incorrect in thinking that it should be in the form of giving LP the privilege of playing football.

Hours after the team returned from East Lansing on September 10, 1995, Phillips broke into backup quarterback Scott Frost's apartment by climbing the outside of the building to the third floor and entering through some sliding doors. He then assaulted basketball player Kate McEwen. Phillips dragged McEwen out of the apartment by the hair and down three flights of stairs before smashing her head into a mailbox. Phillips was subsequently arrested, and eventually suspended by head coach Tom Osborne. The case became a source of controversy and media attention, with the perception that Frost had not even tried to protect McEwen and that Osborne was coddling a star player by not kicking Phillips off the team permanently. Osborne walked out on a press conference when asked "If one of your players had roughed up a member of your family and had dragged her down a flight of steps, would you have reinstated that player to the team?"[8] Outraged Nebraska faculty proposed that any student convicted of a violent crime be prohibited from representing the university on the football field.[9] Osborne defended the decision, saying that abandoning Phillips might do more harm than good, stating the best way to help Phillips was within the structured environment of the football program. Osborne stated ""I felt the only thing I could put in a place that would keep him on track was football, because that was probably the only consistent organizing factor in his life."[10] After a six-game suspension, Osborne reinstated Phillips for the Iowa State game,[11] although touted freshman Ahman Green continued to start. Phillips also played against Kansas and Oklahoma.

He’s a 2020. Not only is it a surprise, it’s ANOTHER indictment on Pep/Harbaugh.
Can’t blame the kid. He made the right decision imo. I wouldn’t go play for Michigan and this shit Stone Age offense that runs the ball 65% of the time and has a shit passing scheme.

edit: oh yeah, by the way the kicked picked a 5-7 team without an Offensive Co-ordinator bc the UT OC just took the WKU job like three days ago. So this kid would rather go to a 5-7 team without an offensive co-ordinator than play for Harbaugh. This kid was a big-time recruit too. 4*, top 100 player, #3 Pro-Style QB and the #5 player in the state of Georgia in the 247Composite 2020 class rankings. He was a heavy Michigan lean early on and they just completely shat the bed on this one and wound up losing him to a 5-7 Tennessee team without an offensive co-ordinator. Ridiculous.

May also mean he values immediate PT, and likes his chances at a 5-7 team?  It's also closer to home.  There are always other factors.  If kids just always signed up for the best program, Alabama would literally just pick the kids they wanted; then Clemson and Ohio State would divide up the rest.  Might be close to that, but those three do actually lose recruiting battles sometimes.

just for fun, let's keep the "culture" score between Maryland and Nebraska since Frost took over in Lincoln.
Heck, we can start from today going forward

Bill Greene reporting both Nic Samac and J.D. Duplain have turned down OSU offers, will stick to their MSU commitments, and both sign and enroll early.

Good, get those OL in the door!

Just struck a chord with me when pundits were praising Frost and his "no profanity" rule as a contrast to how Maryland was so "toxic".
I witnessed several of his players at UCF simulate pissing on our field with Gatorade bottles, purposely going at our QB's knees the year before, and mouthing off and pushing coaches on the opponents sideline.
Something tells me, he's no angel.

not many angels in this game, but I'd say Frost is on the better side of the aisle.  no angel

no coach is going to completely control 100+ guys on the roster over a period of years, but Frost has handled things in Lincoln so far.

4* RB Eric Gray from Memphis, TN de-commits from Michigan.

Gray is ranked in the 247Composite as the #209 player in the nation and the #3 All-Purpose back.

Yet another blow. Harbaugh has been a complete disaster the last few weeks. Couldn’t end a season any worse. This is a recurring fricken theme. One that I am getting sick and tired of.

Looks like Tennessee.  SEC East is about to get fun again, particularly if Stoops can keep Kentucky decent.

This kid is a complimentary piece, not an every down back. He’s basically a more talented version of Chris Evans. Sucks to see him go but not sure these dumb offensive coaches would use him properly.
Tennessee is still gonna suck for awhile. Georgia owns the east now but Florida is coming. Mullen has been doing it with a terrible QB like Franks. He gets his QB and Florida will take off.
