wish he was the RB coach at Michigan. He'd kill it IMO.

He'd be great in that role, but is he on speaking terms with the head honcho?

doubt it. probably a moot point anyways, because Jim ain't firing his son Jay. The young Harbaugh has actually hit it out of the park recruiting RB's these last two classes. Michael Barrett and Hassan Haskins were lowly 3*'s but both of them have been getting lot of buzz in the insider circles as two incoming freshman who have really impressed early. Haskins might just be the most physically impressive back on the team and Barrett is a lock to play as a true frosh as a RB/wildcat QB/reverse man/slot ninja.
And then in the 2019 class he's landed arguably the top RB duo in the country in 4* Zach Charbornnet (6'2, 210) out of California & Eric Gray (5'10, 190) out of Tennessee. Charbonnet just flew up to the #4 RB and #40 player overall in the latest 247 rankings and Gray did as well after he impressed at the opening- he jumped up to #1 All-Purpose back and #86 player overall. Charbonnet is a guy that could wind up as a 5* when it's all said and done imo.

Purdue picked up two 4 star recruits yesterday.  TJ Sheffield (who committed to ND and then there was some shenanigans that ended up with ND pulling the offer) is a 4 star WR and Steven Faucheux is a four star DT out of Ohio.  There are still a few spots left and Purdue is still high on some other four star players (David Bell, JJ Weaver, Wandale Robinson, Milton Wright).
If they can manage to pull in one or two of those four, it is conceivable Purdue could finish the year with a top 25 class.

I think we all thought Brohm was a great hire, but I don't think anyone could have predicted how quickly he'd turn it around on the recruiting trail.

#4 player overall, #3 DE, 5* DE Zach Harrison of Ohio delays his commitment announcement indefinitely. Harrison was scheduled to announce his commitment in 2 weeks on his bday on August 14. He has since canceled that as he said he's not sure where he wants to go and he won't make any commitment until he is 100% sure where he wants to go.

Probably not the best news for Ohio State, and it keeps the door open for Michigan and PSU to gain ground.

It was amazing to me how much more media love PJ Barnum got than Brohm.
Cal and Purdue won that hiring season for sure. Purdue probably more than Cal.

This puts Purdue at four or five 4* recruits (depending on service).  One of those may be upgraded to a 5* this fall.  Brohm is killing it.

And it's almost August!  Purdue opens up -3.5 against Northwestern 8/30/18.

Not even Purdue fans. Not even with how he turned around the program in one year. The fact that we've not only got a program that has excitement, buzz, but is actually recruiting at a level that Tiller never dreamed of this quickly is astounding.

George Karlaftis is currently according to 247 consensus ranks a 4* and the 76th-ranked player in the country. 247 themselves, however, rank him 5* and the 9th-best player in the entire nation.

And it doesn't look like he's got any chance of flipping. He's actively recruiting other players to join him in West Lafayette.

MSU adds 3* J.D. Duplain from OH.

All of the services list him as an OG, and he would be MSU's 5 OL recruit this cycle.  But some talk that MSU likes him more as a DT.

Had offers from Maryland, Pitt, Indiana, Kentucky, but just took a visit to Clemson a couple weeks back, and there were rumors an offer was coming soon from there.  Wonder if a commitment now is a result of hearing Clemson wasn't offering, and you wonder what happens if that offer comes at a later date.

Steve Witflong who is one of the more plugged in recruiting guys over at 247 says Karlaftis is rock solid to Purdue and only way he'd change that is if Brohm were to leave- then he'd open it up and look at Michigan and USC.
