that wasn't the goal

the goal was the Kansas comet having the highest YPC

You didn't understand a word I said, apparently.
The goal, in this case, would be to give Sayers the ball so often that his YPC decreased until it equaled the backups'.

Giving the most effective RB the ball more isn't going to help you win?  Since when???

There is a line of thought that losing him to KU was what ultimately doomed Bill Jennings at Nebraska, paving the way for the hire of Bob Devaney a few years later.
If that is the case, Nebraska was very fortunate to not recruit Gale Sayers.

My Dad got to play against Sayers in high school.  He did not tackle him.  Zig zag, TD.

I played against the 'other' Adrian Peterson (Ga Southern/Chicago Bears), Ian Scott (Florida/Bears), and Thad Bullard (Florida/WWE "Titus O'Neil").

I completely forgot about Terrell Suggs, DE, Arizona St.

I specifically had him in mind, but evidently not when I posted the poll.  I'm confident Sayers wins anyway, but I bet Suggs would've finished 2nd.  My bad.
