I’m reeeally not a fan of this HR-or-K style of baseball.  It’s worse in the postseason bc you’re getting fireballing relievers six innings per game.
Agreed.  TTO is not appealing to the eye.

I don't think anyone is.
I had a response all typed up when dudekd posted he disliked baseball but was jealous of all of the advanced metrics.  Then I accidentally hit back, and didn't feel like retyping.  Basically, be careful what you wish for.  A lot of the metrics based managing has told us the best baseball is actually a far less interesting product.

I feel like the Dodgers weathered a storm the first 2 innings.  Keeping it close, 3-3 now.  Into Boston's bullpen.

Well we have the competition vs entertainment aspects battling it out here.
If the ideal methods to win baseball games aren't entertaining, you don't have a product to sell.
If you throw strategy out the window, then nobody cares who wins.
I think once everyone is playing 3-true-outcomes baseball, someone will zag when everyone is zigging.  When they find success, others will follow.  The young pitchers coming up are used to a pitch clock, so that will help.  That's why I don't think it's necessary in MLB.  They're grandfathering it in naturally.
We've had .250 hitters drop to being .220 hitters, and when they become .200 hitters, there will be a slingshot back the other way.  Talented hitters can go deep into counts and draw a walk.  Everyone else (even in the majors) goes deep into counts and strikes out.  That's not good baseball.  Launch angle only matters if you make contact, lol.

Stunning 13th inning tonight.   All on the IF (more or less).  Nunez in his Forest Gump role, finds a way to show up in all areas.   I'm gonna be dragging Saturday.

Dodgers winning is bad,, but more baseball is good and trumps that

I wonder if I could have stayed up for that even if it was my team.  Maybe if it was a potential clinching game.   Closest I can recall was Red Wingns dropping a Cup clinching Game 5 to the Penguins in 2008 in triple OT.  They won it in Game 6, but that Game 5 I think ended after 2 am.

Wings used to have all kinds of late games in the Western Conference, simply bc they started so late, and I just generally made a rule to go to bed after 2 periods to avoid the potential of an OT suck in

Woke up at 1:30 with Fox Sports app still streaming on my phone and thought it was the replay until I saw 13th inning. Saw Nunez crash into the the first row. Now idea what inning or state of consciousness that was. No chance of staying up. I love baseball, but anything LA v Boston stinks. Holding on to the last few innings of the season is tough when it’s the two worst fan bases in the country.

I couldn't even stay up for that on the west coast.

Reminds me of that famous Yzerman series clincher versus St. Louis. It's Game 7. Double OT. Gretzky mishandles the puck in the neutral zone then WHAM!

Why does everyone hate the Dodgers?  THey haven't won a WS in 30 years!

Forget pace of play, this style of baseball will kill the game.
18 innings, and the only scoring was 3 solo HR.  It's a glorified HR derby, all-or-nothing crap-fest.
