Spartans took two of the sets to deuce, and Toliver's world class serve gave them a set point in the third.  They had a 19-17 lead in the first set as well, but of course PSU has Haleigh Washington, and she blocked everything at that point.

I think Stanford wins it all.

I'm pullin' for the Bugeaters to win the Big Ten CCG, and then pulling for either Nebraska or the The Nittany Lionesses in the NCG.

I'd rank the final 4 as follows:

Stanford
PSU
UNL
Florida

Yes.. I know Florida beat UNL early in the season.. but that was without UNL's Senior setter

Well, poop.

Anyway, best of luck to those remaining.  Should be some great matches.

So Stanford is the favorite to win it this year and four of their five AAs (including all 3 first teamers) are sophomores?

Yup.   That's why last year's national title was so surprising.  It was Inky (elite MB now on National Team) and a bunch of freshman.    New coach this year was really the only wildcard.

No offense to the honorable mention AAs, but the AVCA names about 50 of them.  It's a huge club.

It sort of reminds me of how the NCAA names 'All-Americans' in Track and Field.  It may have changed since the 90s, but when I was in school, I dated a high jumper, who ended up being an All-American.  It turns out the top 8 'American' results/heights/times/etc. in each event are designated 'T&F All American status' for the season.  So in theory if 15 runners from Kenya finish in the top 15 in the 10,000m,   and 16-23 are Americans,  those first 8 Americans are also AAs in the 10,000m.  I think the girl I dated was actually 11th or something, thanks to the Canadian, or T&T jumpers from some other school.

So what are the rules these days regarding medical redshirts?

OSU had a ton of injuries, and one of the best players didn't even make it halfway through September.
