Toledo wins the I-75 Trophy @ Bowling Green 66-37.

NIU beats WMU 35-31. So WMU is eliminated from the Mac West race, while CMU is eliminated from the Mac Ccg.

EMU beats Miami 27-24. So that eliminates The Redhawks from the Mac East race.

-----------------------------------------

So the Mac East race remains the same as my post above this one, other than scenario #5 being eliminated. I will go ahead and delete that scenario from that post.

----------------------------------------

So Toldo and NIU are tied for first place in the Mac West, with CMU one game back.

Thus, the Mac West Title race will also come down to two games next week. NIU @ CMU and WMU @ Toledo.

There are four possible scenarios.

1. Toledo and NIU both win.
-Toledo goes to the Mac Ccg based on H-H with NIU.

2. Toledo and CMU both win.
-Toledo wins the Mac West outright.

3. WMU and NIU both win.
-NIU wins the Mac West outright.

4. WMU and CMU both win.
-Toledo goes to the Mac Ccg based on going 2-0 in H-H-H with NIU and CMU.

----------------------------------------

So we can pencil in Akron-Toledo as the "most likely" Mac Ccg, since both are at home next week, and each of those teams wins three of the four possible scenarios remaining within their respective divisions.

That said, I would speculate that there's far greater odds of Toledo blowing a game against WMU than Akron barfing up a Wagon Wheel game against crosstown rival Kent. Even if both of those things happen, Ohio and NIU would have to each win a game on the road in order for them to nab those spots.

Speaking of off Saturday MACtion we apparently don't get this year, the MAC Championship Game is now Saturday at noon.  I'm pretty sure it's been Friday night since it's late 90s inception.  I wonder if due to the Big XII going to a CCG now too, ESPN actually had a lack of Saturday programming with all P5 conferences now having only one game that day.

I get the MAC playing weeknight games to get on TV< but they are playing 3 games tonight, and only 1 (Akron-Kent) is on tv.  I don't get that.

Tonight the collegiate football career of Kent State's psychopathic senior nose tackle Jon Cunningham will come to a close.

...and, fittingly, Jon Cunningham is ejected from his final game in the first quarter, for executing one of his signature body slam tackles, like the one pictured above, driving the Akron QB head first into the ground.

Although it may appear that he will be incarcerated in the not too distant future, he is actually pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Toledo is 2-3 all time in Mac Ccgs.

They last appeared in this game in 2004, an eight point win against the Redhawks.
/They were 1-3 vs Marshall before that.

Akron is 1-0 all time, with a one point victory over NIU in 2005.
