I mean Wisconsin did only have 200 yards of total offense, and no passing game to speak of. Ordinarily a team wins a game with defense like that. But you are right, the Badgers made efficient use of their meager total offense, turning in three solid drives, each ending in a touchdown and burning a ton of clock, particularly the last one, at over 8 minutes.
Little things matter. Had the Trojans not missed two field goals in a row, the Badgers get the ball back with a 4-point lead in the 4th quarter, instead of a 10-point lead. That's a much different game. But they did miss (as did the Badgers in the first half)--have to be sound in the kicking game. USC failed to take advantage of a poor first quarter offense from the Badgers, squandering two picks in USC territory for a mere 3 points. But starting in the second quarter the next four Badger drives went TD, TD, punt, TD.
