it's rare, but it happens

I've been pleading with Coach Frost to find a Linebacker that can boot kickoffs out the back side of the endzone

apparently the non-athlete kickers on the squad the past 5 seasons don't have enough leg.

I'm consistent from 40-on-in.  Kickoff touchbacks?  Nuh uh.

it was stupid and reckless to let her kick in a P5 football game.

Kickers can get destroyed in football. This could've happend.....

That's true, but it generally doesn't. We could probably make a video like that for nasty broken bones and dislocated limbs, but they're still a rarity.

Most folks don't block kickers. They don't do it because, as we've said, they're shitty tacklers. If a returner can't shake her with ease, christ, that might me she is OK being out there.

(there is the alternative that some kid just dials one up on her because they think it would be fun to hit a lady. I suppose that would be it's own separate deal)

Right.  Not football players.
100%. Which is why they should just get rid of them.

I really won't mind if they got rid of kickoffs.

Just spot the ball on the 20

as far as onside kicks, ... no need for them.  Don't put yerself in the position to need one.

kinda sucks for a team that has played poorly to get lucky and get a shot at the end of the game

Well there's that alternative to an on-side kick - the "kickoff" team gets the ball after scoring, 4th and 15 at the opponent's 40 yard line.

Have teams go for 2 only.

But with no field goals, scoring would decrease.

With almost no practice when I was in HS I could put it through from 30-yards (I was not our kicker - but at 5'8", I was still apparently better than 6'2" Sarah Fuller based on her only NCAAF kick); 40-yards is damned good my man, if you were not a kicker, and a heckuva a lot better than what I could do in my previous life.

I don't mind field goals or extra point kicks.  But, I'd be fine without either of them or both.

the fun part of an extra point kick for one point and the going for 2 points is that it forces head coaches to perform simple math
