There isn't a real reason to track this, is there?  Other than being a kind of oddity and statistic?  What if one division had two really good teams and 5 terrible ones, and lost the numbers game but had two elite teams and the other division just had a bunch of pretty good teams?
If you intended this comment to be in the East vs West thread, yes, I agree. If the divisions lined up and played 1-7, it would be meaningful, but otherwise doesn't mean much.

Iowa is legit.  I don't see another Big Ten West team catching up to them.  Defense wins championships.

Prior to this week, I thought Wisconsin would shut Iowa down and carve out enough offense to get the win. Iowa's willingness to finally attack vertically makes me rethink that a little bit.

Still, I'll remain skeptical until after the PSU game. If Iowa can move the ball, win or lose, I'll consider this team a legit contender.

Sorry, I misplaced my post, thanks.

Maryland doesn't commit penalties. It's a B1G reffing conspiracy.
Thanks for covering for MCWTerps.

The premise of the original post by Medina, i.e. a lot could be decided in the Big Ten West this weekend, appears to have held up.

  • Iowa won.
  • Wisconsin lost.
  • Purdue lost.

Iowa is the only undefeated BT-W team in conference games. Purdue, Minnesota, and Northwestern as of this moment have one loss. Northwestern plays later today. If Iowa loses to Penn State, it will open an avenue for Wisconsin, Illinois, or Nebraska to get back into the race.
It does seem Iowa has the inside track.
