Justin Layne clearly punched the USU player in the face. He's gone 10 times out of 10. MSU got very lucky there. That would have left them without the #1, 2 and 4 corners at break of camp.
That's the other thing that wasn't mentioned was Tyson Smith's stroke. He was expected to provide depth and play NB. MSU was largely healthy but losing two of their top three at the same position hurt. In fairness, the coaches do like to move Dowell to nickel in a lot of situations and bring in a safety to take his spot.
