Christians, orthodox Jews or anyone with traditional views of sex and marriage should be barred from state university counseling programs unless they agree to violate their beliefs.
What do you mean by "violate your beliefs"? If your job is to counsel someone, isn't that what you should do, to the best of your ability, without injecting personal beliefs? Isn't that what we ask of teachers, particularly social studies teachers, who we want to educate but not indoctrinate by injecting personal feelings and bias?
Lots of people have strong beliefs which don't belong at work. Your job is your job. If you want to have a job as a counselor, then do your job as a counselor.
