'Rule of law too hard for secondary pupils to learn'

SNIP:
A history professor in charge of reforming the Liberal Studies curriculum on Friday said that concepts of "rule of law" and "social governance" were not included in the new subject Citizenship and Social Development's framework, because class time was limited.

Speaking on an RTHK radio programme, Lau Chi-pang said secondary students may not easily understand the concepts, and so they were no longer included in the framework of chapters relating to the mainland - one of the subject's three themes.

"[Concepts of] rule of law and infrastructure often involve national policies, and require higher-level observation and thinking. It may take much time to teach such topics," he said.

It's Meghan Markle, so I'm not surprised....

Meghan Markle’s ‘wellness’ coffee tied to Chinese state accused of genocide

SNIP:
Meghan Markle‘s money is behind a trendy instant coffee brand that she touts for its ethically sourced ingredients, but the company has previously received tens of thousands of pounds of oat-milk powder from a business in a Chinese state accused of genocide, a new report claims.

Clevr Blends’ onetime oat-milk supplier — Xinjiang Haiyan International Trade — was located within four miles of suspected detention centers, including an alleged re-education site, according to The Daily Mail and a company rep.

The California-based company bills itself as a “woman-led, mission-driven wellness company,” even though human-rights groups have urged Western companies to cut ties with the Xinjiang region due to systematic rapes there and the detention of a million Muslims in re-education forced labor camps, according to the report.

Clevr received five large deliveries of oat-milk powder from its supplier in Xinjiang Haiyan between October and February, The Daily Mail reported.
