I saw a couple of "reports" on Facebook memes also.  They have zero substance.

A confirmed smallpox outbreak would be major news, even one case of it.
Did not see it on face book nice try at denigrating though OCDDawg
Who said a major out break or implied it?
Now some of the other diseases that where once all but gone in our country are rearing their ugly head in some areas

President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

This smallpox claim is simply nor credible.
There have been a couple reports of it valid or not from different news agencies over the past couple of years

Then there is this as well

There's a growing health concern over illegal immigrants bringing infectious diseases into the United States. Approximately 500,000 legal immigrants and 80,000 refugees come to the United States each year, and an additional 700,000 illegal immigrants enter annually, and three-quarters of these illegal immigrants come from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
Legal immigrants and refugees are required to have a medical examination for migration to the United States, while they are still overseas. This is the responsibility of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which provide instructions to the Panel Physicians who conduct the medical exams. The procedure consists of a physical examination, an evaluation (skin test/chest x-ray examination) for tuberculosis (TB), and blood test for syphilis. Requirements for vaccination are based on recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
Individuals who fail the exam due to certain health-related conditions are not admitted to the United States. Such conditions include drug addiction or communicable diseases of public health significance such as TB, syphilis, gonorrhoea, leprosy, and a changing list of current threats such as polio, cholera, diphtheria, smallpox, or severe acute respiratory syndromes. Illegal immigrants crossing into the United States could bring any of these threats, however. Southern Texas Border Patrol agent Chris Cabrera warns: "What's coming over into the US could harm everyone. We are starting to see scabies, chicken pox, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections, and different viruses."

Illegal immigration may expose Americans to diseases that have been virtually eradicated, but are highly contagious, as in the case of TB. This disease rose by 20% globally from 1985 to 1991, and was declared a worldwide emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1995. Furthermore, TB frequently occurs in connection with the human immunodeficiency virus. Fortunately, more than 90% of Central Americans are vaccinated against TB, according to the WHO.

from the Southern Medical Journal
President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

Riiiiiight.
You just opposed things you now approve of.

Oh, please.

• Golfing?

That's not even policy.

Sure, some may have ragged on Obama about it.  Just like Democrats ragged on Bush and now Trump.  Petty, sure.  Policy, no.  Personally, I could care less about what hobbies a POTUS takes up in his free time.

• Executive Orders?

That's not policy either.

It's procedure. And ALL recent Presidents have used them. Clinton. Bush. Obama. How is it any different now?

• Russia?

What about them? Democrats are the ones who have gone absolutely bonkers and off the deep end when it comes to Russia. How did Republicans change their policy position on Russia when Obama was in the White House?

• National debt?

Both parties complain about it when the other party is in the White House. Ultimately the spending can has always been kicked down the road. Sure, the Republicans have been hypocrites about it. But they didn't refuse to spend on any policy under Obama that they previously supported.  If so, please name it.

Some people here might like to know there is no smallpox at the border, none.  Folks who like hoax web sites about cities underneath two miles of ice can believe whatever they want, with whatever dubious sourcing of "facts" they prefer, along with calling me the same old tired names for correcting their misinformation.

At some point, some posters might want to check before they post inaccuracies, but that is up to them.

Immigrants are bringing in lots of nasty diseases - but I don't think that smallpox is one of them.

I don't care if some news agencies reported it nor that a medical journal warns ''Individuals who fail the exam due to certain health-related conditions are not admitted to the United States. Such conditions include drug addiction or communicable diseases of public health significance such as TB, syphilis, gonorrhoea, leprosy, and a changing list of current threats such as polio, cholera, diphtheria, smallpox, or severe acute respiratory syndromes. But this is all Trump's fault.   The fact that the Democrats won't support spending $5.7B out of a $4+T budget on border security totally out of spite isn't a problem.  What's important is Trump called it an emergency.  What's not important is that Democrats would sacrifice the security of our country to prevent Trump from winning.
That makes a lot of sense in CNN-land.
Congress is responsible for the budget and funding things.  That's how it's supposed to work.  Republicans, if they were a bunch of sissies, could have defunded Obamacare.  Trump is manufacturing a fake emergency because he's a child.

I doubt Republicans, in general, now love the national debt or Russians.

They have been considerably more muted in criticism of Presidential golfing and executive orders though.

They've embraced them, and the silence on the debt is deafening.

Two guys with ostensibly amusing shirts doesn't mean all Republicans have embraced Russians, or even that those two do.

It's a joke.

What has changed that makes the current flow of illegals crossing the border an "emergency"?

So there was this guy on our dock in the marina where we keep our boat. He was a Polish dude, with a nice wife and daughter. He said he was a contractor. Had a really nice sailboat, a really nice car and a big house in a good area just North from Chicago.

One day I get to the marina and there are chains on his boat, with US Coast Guard tags if I remember right. Seized. Then gone. Anyway, it turns out he was not a contractor, in the sense that you'd think of the job.

He was caught using his other (power) boat, in Michigan, bringing 6 Polish people across the St. Clair River. Dock hands in the marina on the Michigan side noticed him leave, go across the river, and pick the people up in Canada. Then the witnessed him come back to the Michigan side, and called authorities.

Needless to say, he's not around anymore. Turns out he was illegal too, and had been doing this for close to 20 years, at least once per week as weather permitted. He was not only bringing people here to work, but also for sex. Sort of a combination.

So, how does this get fixed, and how come nobody talks about the other border?
U RAH RAH! WIS CON SIN!

Do you believe it's ever been an emergency?
