The IG Report

So the IG report is damning, except that it concludes that the opening of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation was warranted.   Yet there's this:

... and this

AG Barr is apparently  disagreeing with the IG conclusion probably due to the fact that Barr has access to the ( Durham) grand jury testimony  that the IG doesn't have.
The IG didn't have subpoena power over people who no longer work for the DOJ which would include  almost everyone that was involved with the FISA Court.

Btw. .
Durham's office put out a similar statement as Barr
DURHAM pointed out that his investigation is not limited to present employees of the DOJ

I posted an image of his statement in my original post.   It's very clear that neither Barr nor Durham think there was adequate predicate for the investigation.

That's possible, but the more likely reason is that Barr wants to keep his job, and the only way to do that is to appease Trump, and support all of his delusional thoughts.

What did I say weeks ago?  The IG works for the DOJ so he will not find that anyone in the DOJ did anything wrong.

Him investigating the DOJ is just like Schiff's impeachment inquiry both are just shams full of political bias and bull shit.

This IG report is not going to "move the needle".  Each side will "spin it" of course, but it's not simple, clear, and unequivocally bad for either.

The comments from US Attorney Durham and AG Barr about the predication of the FBI's spying were most interesting.  It suggests to me that high level people will be indicted for more than the ubiquitous "process crime."

The DOJ IG Horowitz is limited in what and how he can investigate this matter. He had no subpoena power and could not compel testimony from individuals outside the DOJ. Comey basically hid behind classified info:

Anyone who might have an opinion that is counter to the Democrat talking point is obviously corrupt and afraid he will lose his job because of Trump's wrath.
Fuzz couldn't have said it better ( my bad..he just said it)

According to Katamai/Fuzz anyone who thinks that there was corruption in the DOJ under Obama is obviously a Trump partisan /flunky.
It make no difference that both Durham and Barr had spotless reputations and had been confirmed numerous times under both Democrat and Republican administration ...when they go to work for Trump they are instantly corrupt.

Seriously...you can see the spin already. There will be a constant drumbeat by the Dem's and make believe Republicans like Katamai to demonize both Barr and Durham to try to delegitimize them before the Durham report comes out.
Same ole' same ole'...if they don't fit the narrative..they destroy. ( see Trump, Kavanaugh, Nunes)

The real issue here, in my view, is whether this is likely to change minds.  I don't think it is at all likely.

Both sides are spinning away, but there is nothing substantive, simple, and clear cut in this sufficient to persuade those in the middle.
