By censoring the reporting of a major and long-standing news organization like the NY Post?

Social media companies are supposedly platforms, not publishers. Why should they be the arbiters on what is or is not propaganda, foreign or otherwise?  And how would they even know?

If they want to cease being a platform and become publishers that edit or censor information then that's fine.  But in so doing they must lose their current status and any related legal protections that come with it.
What status? There is a misconception that there is some magical different between a "publisher" and a "platform"  There isn't.  Setion 230 just says, essentially, that Twitter isn't responsible for what you and I say because we say it on Twitter.

If Twitter is editing on what is published on its platform, then it can be sued for what is on its platform.
They do not want to be liable.
But to do so, they cannot edit the posts.
Catch 22.

Twitter has become part of the story now by their "editing", rightly or wrongly.  That has added to the significance and somewhat to the credibility of the story in reality.

Something "banned" is always more alluring than something just passed on freely.

If they edit a tweet to say something else, they could be responsible because they are the one actually saying something.  But deleting or putting a warning sign on a tweet is not the same as editing it to say something else.  They do not lose any magical protections because they have standards on what can be published on their site.

If they edit, they are subject to liable laws.
If they don't edit, they are exempt.
Pretty clear - if you believe in the First Amendment.

All right let's put that to the test.  Let's say I start calling people all sorts of derogatory names and claim all the posters are pedophiles.  Drew decides to edit the post to censor these claims.  Is he now liable for what I said?

Streisand Effect- attempt to hide, remove, or censor information has the unintended consequence of further publicizing that information

I heard somewhere that Amazon has something like 2% of all retail sales in the US.  I'm not sure that is correct, heard it in the car on radio.

EXCLUSIVE: Fox News Passed on Hunter Biden Laptop Story Over Credibility Concerns

Mediaite has learned that Fox News was first approached by Rudy Giuliani to report on a tranche of files alleged to have come from Hunter Biden’s unclaimed laptop left at a Delaware computer repair shop, but that the news division chose not to run the story unless or until the sourcing and veracity of the emails could be properly vetted.

With the general election just three weeks away, Giuliani ultimately brought the story to the New York Post, which shares the same owner, Rupert Murdoch. The tabloid has been exhaustively covering the contents of the laptop — which include everything from emails regarding Hunter Biden’s work for a Ukrainian company to personal photos of the recovering addict — with each morsel being amplified in the conservative media world, including on Fox News’ top-rated opinion programs. Thus far, the Fox’s News division has only been able to verify one email from the tranche leaked.
