Again, the left is where lies and conspiracy theories originate.

Never trust law enforcement

Um, do you understand that law enforcement wasn't the problem?   It was the media that lied.  Anybody in there?

Never trust law enforcement
Most of them are good people, who are performing a thankless job.
President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/capitol-riot-brian-sicknick-police/2021/01/08/id/1004742/

"At approximately 9:30 p.m. this evening (January 7, 2021), United States Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away due to injuries sustained while on-duty. Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol and was injured while physically engaging with protesters.  He returned to his division office and collapsed.  He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries." - Capitol Police

Further, the reports of getting hit with a fire extinguisher were from "two unnamed law enforcement sources."

The three possibilities here are that the NY Times were unwittingly lied to by their "anonymous" sources but don't care enough to call them out, they were wittingly lied to and were more than happy to go along with the false narrative, or they made the whole thing up.

Practically, it doesn't really make a difference at this point.

How could they have made the whole thing up?

There's a fourth possibility.  The sources in law enforcement made an honest mistaken assumption, and the NYT took them at their word.

Well, it goes to Texie's credibility.

For a credible, legitimate news source, the NYTs seems to get duped a lot.   I guess there must be a lot of honest mistakes made in journalism.

Funny how all of the "honest mistaken assumptions" all go only one way politically.

The Capitol Police were embarrassed and this gave them the ability to play the victim - even if it was a lie.  Seems to work every time.

But notice how the lefties are going after Glenn Greenwald for pointing it out:

All the talk about racism, etc. is just a tool for silencing opposition. It’s literally never about doing anything about racism, etc.

Greenwald seems to have figured it out:
