Who can blame her?

Hours after the Seattle City Council voted to strip about $3 million from the police department and reduce its size by up to 100 officers as part of a push to fundamentally change policing in the city, Police Chief Carmen Best announced her retirement.

Best, the city’s first Black police chief, leaves after months of turmoil that made Seattle a focal point for national protests against police brutality and racial injustice. In a letter to Seattle police officers, the 55-year-old called the decision “difficult” but said “when it’s time, it’s time.”

Good on her.

Note all those white supremacists that are defending her....

wouldn't be surprised if she turns out to be Nashville's new chief!

Fort Worth is looking for a new police chief too.  People here (not Dallas, LOL) respect and appreciate the police, so she would find it refreshing.

I'm curious about the Anti-Trust issues. Amazon donates money to BLM which primarily vandalizes loots and destroys brick and mortar businesses that compete with Amazon.

Progressives: Women make less money than men for the exact same job!
Also Progressives: We're going to pay the black female police chief about 100k less than we paid her predecessor, a white male.

what are these cities going to do with the surplus from defunding police? give it back to tax paying citizens?

JAMES LILEKS’ WEDNESDAY REVIEW OF MODERN THOUGHT:

Quote
All I’m saying is this: imagine if the riots and looting had been stopped, at once, and all the public leaders and opinion makers repudiated every stitch of the intellectual quilt behind the defenders of disorder.

Imagine a world in which the major newspaper didn’t respond with fashion layouts of the clothes preferred by people who light public buildings on fire.

Sorry, bad-lyric-Lennon-song reference here, but imagine that? It’s not easy. I can’t.
Not when the Washington Post has supplied these images:

Oregon State Police announced they're leaving Portland as a result of the announcement by Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt’s that his office does not intend to prosecute most of those arrested.
