'Our findings confirm previous evidence of the harmful effect on mental health of daily use of cannabis'

People who smoke high-potency marijuana daily are nearly five times more likely to develop a psychotic disorder than those who have never used the drug, according to a new study published in the Lancet Psychiatry journal.

The research, which was published online Tuesday, adds to previous studies that have shown causal links between the drug and the onset of severe mental health disorders.
"Our findings confirm previous evidence of the harmful effect on mental health of daily use of cannabis, especially of high-potency types," the study's authors wrote. "Importantly, they indicate for the first time how cannabis use affects the incidence of psychotic disorder."

The reverse of this premise could be "People likely to develop psychotic disorders are prone to smoking pot daily.".

That may be consistent with the data as well.

Exactly.  The research assumes the cause and the effect, when there's really no basis for it.

I didn't read their paper, so I don't know if they eliminated my hypothesis as an option or not.

Like wow man. The study was really groovy.  Like the pages were better than rolling papers man. Especially with this primo s---- I just scored. I thought about reading it man, but I just could not get into its scene. I mean you like all the big words and data was to heavy man. So here want a toke?
From the article. Two paragraphs that put into more understandable terms for those whose brains are trashed.
The study found that marijuana users who smoked daily were three times more likely to be diagnosed with a psychotic disorder than those who never used the drug.
The risk increased to nearly five times more likely in those who smoked high-potency marijuana on a daily basis.
Maybe you should have just stuck with Mexican dirt weed, but then you may be the proof of OCDDAWGS failed alternate hypothesis  :72:

In other words the all knowing has no need to digest the report as he already knows its flawed

I in no way stated the report was flawed, read my comments again.

I offered an alternative hypothesis consistent with the data.  The researchers may well have considered that explanation and dealt with it.  I doubt anyone here read the actual paper.

Here, you can see I did not state the report was flawed, at all, in any sense.

I scanned the original article.  They did not mention unless I missed the possibility that people prone to psychotic episodes might be more prone to seeking marijuana as some kind of relief or outlet.  They did show a good correlation between heavy MJ exposure and psychotic episodes.

This hardly means I think the article is flawed.  To claim I did is simply a lie.
