At this point, I'd say it's more of a much deserved F-U to all the free speech opponents out there. Can't blame them for that, but it's actually short-sighted.
I disagree with the protests, and would advise them against it. To the extent they're protesting "inequality" (which I think is a big part of it?), their actions are counter-productive. They may like how it feels and how it looks on TV, but if it's costing them viewers then it's costing them money, and that's not good for black economic equality (which is the most important kind).
It's hard to take conservatives seriously when they whine about "disrespecting the flag" when they're completely callous to the much more clear offenses committed with the Confederate flag that they refuse to repudiate.
.
Well Mary again you show ignorance so why don't you explain just what callous offenses were committed under the Confederate battle flag which is the one you referenced.
It certainly wasn't making war on American citizens by burning, looting, raping and murdering which was done under the Union flag by northern troops and the northern generals who brought their slaves along to help them.
It's definitely hard to take you liberal loons serious when you don't know your history or the subject you attempt to discuss thinking you know the facts.
It was Lincoln who ordered Sherman to destroy everything from Chattanooga to Charleston, he ordered Sheridan to destroy and burn everything in the Shenandoah Valley, he ordered all of his generals to destory the South and everything in it so they could no longer make war.
It was former Methodist preacher turned journalist Willam "Parson" Brownlow elected governor of Tennessee who wanted to execute by hanging all former confederates.
So don't come here trying to tell us about callous offenses commited under the Confederate flag when there was not any but if what Lincoln and his generals did happened today they would have been tried and executed for war crimes.
