President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

That's what you do and what you've convinced yourself that you're fooling everyone.
The truth is...the NYT's retracted the story and apologized.
Then re-printed the story with the addition that the "victim" had no recollection of anything happening.
It's amazing how many in fake stories gets published by the MS M and you continue to defend them and then criticize the National Review when they were factual ( at least when you don't play your cute word games)

So rather than apologize and retract your own falsehood, you're doubling down on it?  This is a new low in dishonesty, even for you.

I consider every lurker in this thread complicit in this lie right along with you, given that no one here has the character to set the record straight (surely they're not stupid enough to think you're right).

https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/09/the-real-reason-for-that-kavanaugh-smear/

SNIP:
Stier’s story is strange, it was already considered by Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, no one corroborates it, and the person to whom it supposedly happened denies any memory of it. In other words, this is garbage. The Times sloppily claimed its reporters “corroborated his story.” Nonsense. It merely confirmed with two FBI officials that Stier had told the FBI this story. It managed only to corroborate the existence of the story. Only the following day did the Times nullify Stier’s charge about what Kavanaugh had supposedly done to a female student with what must be one of the most infamous editor’s notes in its history: “The female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident.”

This would be dubious journalism, were it journalism. But it isn’t. It’s merely an element in a political project. Kavanaugh “will always have an asterisk next to his name,” Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyer Debra Katz said at an April conference. “When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is, we know his character, and we know what motivates him, and that is important; it is important that we know, and that is part of what motivated Christine.”

The hope of the Democratic party and most of the media is to delegitimize Brett Kavanaugh and hence any Supreme Court decision in which he joins a 5–4 majority. The ground is being laid to make the case that, should Roe v. Wade be overturned in such a manner, that decision would exist under a cloud. It’s a desperation move: The Democrats and their media allies, the Times and The New Yorker very much included, are envisioning some extralegal or extra-constitutional maneuvers to stop Roe from being overturned.

Your National Review pablum makes a mockery of the concept of intellectual honesty.

The NYT apologized for the omission, but did not retract or "walk back" any allegations.

You call a National Review article pablum, but you believe a disgraceful hit piece published in a partisan leftwing rag like the NY Times?  The Times panders to their readers by selectively reporting the news and publishing biased and flawed OPs.  When was the last time they went after a mainstream democrat?   And you probably haven't noticed, but every time an "omission" or "mis-statement" is made about a Republican, it always reflects the leftwing bias of the editors.

This Times OP was designed to spur interest in the book peddled by its authors.  It's garbage.   Get back to us when you have something - anything - resembling evidence.

SNIP:
While conservatives and journalism purists were outraged, liberals and never-Trumpers weren’t thrilled with the Gray Lady either.

MSNBC’s anti-Trump host Joe Scarborough said it “was a stunning decision to leave that central fact out of an article filled with damning accusations” and pondered if the revision would have occurred without Hemingway pointing out the omission.

“One can argue that the failure to remember, given her intoxication, is not dispositive. One can’t argue, however, that that fact didn’t need to be in the Kavanaugh story from the outset,” NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik tweeted.

Mediaite columnist John Ziegler called The Times a “once universally respected paper of record” that has allowed “biased reporters” to smear Kavanaugh.

“There is absolutely nothing ‘new’ or legitimately credible in the piece, and there are key omissions that should humiliate The Times and, in a rational world, would never have allowed the story to run as it did,” Ziegler wrote.

This is a comical, inadvertent admission that conservatives didn't care about the testimony at the hearings because their minds were already made up.

Pretty impressive - keep em coming, HK.
