Never, EVER, paint yourself into a corner...
« on: September 15, 2019, 12:17:56 PM »
“At least seven people” were aware of the story that Brett Kavanaugh had drunkenly exposed his penis to an unwilling Yale classmate, who ended up touching it while trying to avoid him, the New York Times reported. In an excerpt from their forthcoming book, The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation, Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly wrote that Deborah Ramirez’s account of being confronted by the future Supreme Court justice’s penis—an incident that Kavanaugh’s supporters dismissed as uncorroborated during his 2018 confirmation hearings—was supported by their later reporting.

During his Senate testimony, Mr. Kavanaugh said that if the incident Ms. Ramirez described had occurred, it would have been “the talk of campus.” Our reporting suggests that it was.

In addition, their investigation turned up a witness to a second, previously unreported incident in which Kavanaugh was said to have brandished his penis, at a different party:
Quote
A classmate, Max Stier, saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a different drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student. Mr. Stier, who runs a nonprofit organization in Washington, notified senators and the F.B.I. about this account, but the F.B.I. did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly. (We corroborated the story with two officials who have communicated with Mr. Stier.)
Unlike Christine Blasey Ford, who said Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her in high school, Ramirez did not testify in the confirmation hearings. With the Republican majority on the Senate Judiciary Committee focused on pushing Kavanaugh through, Pogrebin and Kelly reported, the investigation into claims against Kavanaugh failed to follow up on dozens of possible leads:
Quote
Ms. Ramirez’s legal team gave the F.B.I. a list of at least 25 individuals who may have had corroborating evidence. But the bureau — in its supplemental background investigation — interviewed none of them, though we learned many of these potential witnesses tried in vain to reach the F.B.I. on their own.
Two F.B.I. agents interviewed Ms. Ramirez, telling her that they found her “credible.” But the Republican-controlled Senate had imposed strict limits on the investigation. “‘We have to wait to get authorization to do anything else,’” Bill Pittard, one of Ms. Ramirez’s lawyers, recalled the agents saying. “It was almost a little apologetic.”

According to the Times, Stier "notified senators and the FBI about this account, but the FBI did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly."

But the Times' article conspicuously did not mention that Pogrebin and Kelly's book also found that the female student in question denied any knowledge of the alleged episode.

"The book notes, quietly, that the woman Max Stier named as having been supposedly victimized by Kavanaugh and friends denies any memory of the alleged event," noted The Federalist's Mollie Hemingway.

"Omitting these facts from the @nytimes story is one of worst cases of journalistic malpractice that I can recall," wrote the National Review's Washington correspondent, John McCormack on Twitter.

"do as i say, not as i do".... "don't paint yourself in a corner"... next thread if there was logic: "what's the best thing to do when you're painted into a corner?"... next thread because there is none: "some racist cornered me with paint".

According to the Times, Stier "notified senators and the FBI about this account, but the FBI did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly."
Declining to discuss something and saying one doesn't remember something to a reporter is not even close to the same thing as denying that it happened to the FBI (who didn't investigate the story).

Besides, you're ignoring the primary substance of this latest bombshell:

During his Senate testimony, Mr. Kavanaugh said that if the incident Ms. Ramirez described had occurred, it would have been “the talk of campus.” Our reporting suggests that it was:

Ms. Ramirez’s legal team gave the F.B.I. a list of at least 25 individuals who may have had corroborating evidence. But the bureau — in its supplemental background investigation — interviewed none of them, though we learned many of these potential witnesses tried in vain to reach the F.B.I. on their own.

This is what's called new information.  It is credibly sourced, and should change any objective mind as to Kavanaugh's honesty and credibility (not that there really should have been any question at this stage).

I look forward to Roady's mea culpa, retraction, and his public apology to both me and Christine Blasey Ford in absentia.

Although to be fair, he may not have known that the Republicans wouldn't allow these additional witnesses to testify (obviously, since it would have derailed Kavanaugh's confirmation).

Does it matter that the "victim" says she has no recall of it?

So it didn't happen.  Does it matter that the journalists didnt bother to find that out?

Another fake news report based on a fake report of fake wrongdoing.  Fuzz swallows it as do all irrational liberals.   Consider this:   it is reported that friends of his took his penis and put it in the hand of a female.    Sound a bit incredible?  I can assure you no one has ever taken my penis and done anything to anybody with it, nor have I ever heard of such a thing.  Yet Fuzz and the NYTimes find this credible?

So how many times has someone taken any of you guys penis and put it in someone else's hand?  Or how many times has you or anyone you know done that with someone else's penis?

Get real.  Beyond absurd.  In real life, it doesn't happen.  This is another hoax.   The NYTIMES has lost all credibility:

Keep painting, Billy!

So it didn't happen.

There are over 25 corroborating witnesses that say it did.

Does it matter that the journalists didnt bother to find that out?

You have no grasp of the facts in this case, which isn't surprising if you're taking the National Review article seriously, given that it is nothing but a series of self-contradictions.

Here's an example of how flawed it is:

"If Kavanaugh’s “friends pushed his penis,” then isn’t it an allegation of wrongdoing against Kavanaugh’s “friends,” not Kavanaugh himself?"

The allegation of wrongdoing against Kavanaugh is that he lied his way onto the court throughout his testimony during his confirmation hearing, including denying that this story occurred.

Yet Fuzzn finds this credible?

Kavanaugh is the one with a motive to lie, which we already know he did multiple times at the hearing.  This is just further proof.

So how many times has someone taken his penis and put it in someone else's hand?

Wonder why you're mischaracterizing the specifics of what's being described?

If you're an example of the opposing counsel in this state, then I'm starting to think I may have made a mistake not going to law school.

https://nypost.com/2019/09/15/devine-latest-brett-kavanaugh-smear-doesnt-hold-up/

SNIP:
They name their alleged witness to the alleged incident as Max Stier, a Washington lawyer and former Yale classmate of Kavanaugh’s, described as a “respected thought leader on federal government management,” but who also appears to be the same Max Stier who was on then-President Bill Clinton’s legal team during the Lewinsky scandal in 1998, when he worked at the law firm Williams & Connolly.

Stier allegedly claims that he “saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a . . . drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student” when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale.

The Times story claims Stier “notified senators and the FBI about this account but the FBI did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly. (We corroborated the story with two officials who have communicated with Mr. Stier.)”

What Pogrebin and Kelly left out of their story, yet reported in their book, is that the alleged victim doesn’t remember the incident and refuses to talk about it. That’s journalistic malpractice.

So no corroboration, no evidence, no victim and no witness (only hearsay of one), but the “paper of record” is perfectly fine with defaming Kavanaugh all over again.

Ms. Ramirez’s legal team gave the F.B.I. a list of at least 25 individuals who may have had corroborating evidence.

Apparently, the press dropped the ball as they didn't interview any of them.
