UPDATE: “To my ears, this is a well-rehearsed speech — far better rehearsed than it was written — by a man with zero investment in the words he’s saying, other than what and where they might get him.”

It was the worst major political speech I’ve ever heard, and that includes Hillary Clinton.

Thresherman •
Look at Joe's eyes, he isn't addressing the USA, he is intently staring at the teleprompter, as if it was the American people.

Then man was so intent on following the teleprompter that he was terrified of not getting what was put in front of him right.

A fraud is being pulled on the American people.

Watched on PBS (yeah, I know...) and I was assured by The Panel of Experts it was speech worthy of an FDR Fireside Chat and possibly of Honest Abe too.

The gaslighting is strong in this one...

I saw a gentleman on Fox Business news say this this morning (forgive the paraphrasing):

"People that have been in the Government for over thirty years are trying to blame a man who has been in government for three years for all the governments problems"

Yep, pretty much....

Biden: A Diminished Trojan Horse With an Army of Marxist Transformers Inside

SNIP:
Biden’s mental state won’t matter once the DNC, the ingrate Squad, Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, Schiff, the detestable Maxine Waters, and the rest of the extremist Democrats get their hands on the levers of power. Even at the peak of his powers, Old Joe could not stave off what these people have in store for America. The fact, incontrovertible now, that Biden is beset by cognitive decline, only makes it easier for them if they can get this rickety warhorse over the finish line. Once wheeled back into the internals of governance, he will become a functionary figure whose presidency sets the stage for an army of Marxist transformers.

And don’t think for a minute that Senator Chameleon Harris will suddenly get in touch with her inner moderate once she’s one tremulous heartbeat away from the presidency. She will reach full flower as the Democratic Socialist enabler-in-chief.

BECAUSE SHE’S SANE: Why, Exactly, Did the ‘Party of Diversity’ Exclude Tulsi Gabbard From Its Convention?

Why, Exactly, Did the ‘Party of Diversity’ Exclude Tulsi Gabbard From Its Convention?
Tulsi was the perfect Democratic candidate in every way ... except that she had once told the truth, and they had no idea when she might do it again.

Dr__P •
She gutted Kamala
- in the debates
- and was declared persona non grata

Skeptic  Dr__P •
Worse, she mentioned Clinton corruption.

I believe that Joe Biden is promising that he will "fix Government" if elected President....

I think it worth noting that many Democrats in Congress remain more somewhat left of center, some like Joe Manchin (not many) are really right of center.  I THINK this idea that a Democratic Congress wills suddenly embrace "socialism" is overblow fear tactics.  I do think they would pass a few items, much as Obama did in 2009-2010 in somewhat similar situations.

Moderately higher taxes, check, but not all the way back.  Some funding for wind and solar to pretend.  An infrastructure bill rife with pork.  Perhaps some new gun legislation if they eliminate cloture.  Maybe.  Some immigration stuff, DACA formalized.

Not the end of the western world.  We'll still be running massive deficits.

President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

CHARLES LIPSON: Joe Biden offers platitudes, not policies.

Quote
What was missing? Three important things. Biden made no mention of what policies he would implement or how they differed from Trump’s; he simply offered vague picture of a happier, more prosperous future;

Riots and looting in major cities; he ignored them entirely; the closest he came was saying that, during his administration, America would finally rid itself of ‘systemic racism’; he included a sweet vignette of talking to George Floyd’s young daughter, who said her father had changed the world; but there was no mention of the chaos in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, New York, and other cities, which may have begun with Floyd’s killing but is now divorced from it;
Any international threats and challenges, or how he would deal with them differently from Trump, aside from saying he would not ‘cozy up to dictators’. He never mentioned Russia, Iran, North Korea, or terrorism. His one glancing mention of China was that his administration would not depend on them for medical supplies, a policy Trump is already pursuing.
The absence of any policy ideas was striking, especially because so many commentators expected them. The whole convention, they noted, had been devoted to attacking Trump, which left Biden was free to explain what he would do in office and how his policies would make the country better. He didn’t do that. He hardly tried. He simply promised everyone the Christmas presents they were wishing for — and then only in the vaguest terms.
