Invading Taiwan would be a huge logistical challenge.
Not sure that China could pull it off, but they're getting closer.
Could see the US giving Taiwan nukes if HK gets overwhelmed.

HK has flash points all over the city - but usually constrained to the weekends.
You can usually avoid them as long as you check ahead of time.
But in most parts of the city - different places on different days.

People are NOT happy.

The Yellow Jacket thing has died down significantly.  My step kids were just here, they live outside Paris.  They said it now is a social thing, they get together and basically have a cook out instead of a protest (aside from some signs).

The HK thing appears to me to be far more substantial and likely to last a long time, I'm not sure what the end game might be to quell the disturbances.  If the police get MORE "heavy handed", the people will get more involved.  If they get less and back off, the people still have a reason to protest (I think).

IF you want to watch the riots in Hong Kong live:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0HADwEqI4Y

You can always type in "Apple Daily" into Youtube and it will let you know if they are broadcasting live.

I wish we could trade about 100,000 of our kids for 100,000 of theirs.

Agreed.
Hard working, creative, and no sense of entitlement.

And they just want an avenue to apply and harvest some return of their efforts.

Meanwhile, American brats want the government that they want out of.

A kid fell and died under suspicious circumstances.

How the Hong Kong Police reacted tonight:
