Booker is a dishonest POS disgrace. Trying to play up to the useful idiots that he’s done something significant that could harm his career and his freedom while knowing the documents he released to the public were blessed the night before and already scheduled for release to be the public. Sadly, the idiots that watch the progressive guardians of the moronic code on CNN, MSNBC, and such will never hear the real story. They’ll die with their head up their ass thinking Booker was a rebel hero for their progressive cause to overthrow Trump and his SC appointee. If it wasn’t so pathetic it would be funny.

I think Booker is way too liberal to do well in 2020, but I think he is a more formidable liberal challenger than geriatrics like Biden or Sanders, or irritating people like Harris or Warren.
I read the emails that he released, and perhaps I am just looking at them from the prism of a white male, but I didn't see what the big deal was about the racial profiling comments Kavanaugh made in the emails.  I am not sure why he was so worked up about it.

Hmmm.
Things like this get you fired if you are a journalist - at least it used to.
I guess standards are lower for politicians....

https://www.nationalreview.com/2013/08/cory-bookers-imaginary-friend-eliana-johnson/

But sources tell National Review Online that the central character in one of Booker’s oft-repeated stories — T-Bone, the drug pusher who the mayor has said threatened his life at one turn and sobbed on his shoulder the next — is a figment of his imagination, even though Booker has talked about him in highly emotional terms and in great detail.

The T-Bone tale never sat right with Rutgers University history professor Clement Price, a Booker supporter who tells National Review Online he found the mayor’s story offensive because it “pandered to a stereotype of inner-city black men.” T-Bone, Price says, “is a southern-inflected name. You would expect to run into something or somebody named T-Bone in Memphis, not Newark.”

#ad#Price considers himself a mentor and friend to Booker and says Booker conceded to him in 2008 that T-Bone was a “composite” of several people he’d met while living in Newark. The professor describes a “tough conversation” in which he told Booker “that I disapproved of his inventing such a person.”

I was in a group with Chris Matthews (MSNBC) this summer, and he was asked:

Which Democrat can win against Trump in 2020?  Cory Booker, New Jersey Senator – no.  Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Senator – no. Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator, New York – no; Kamala Harris, California Senator - no.

They need to nominate an outsider (e.g. Governor) that will play with moderates such as Governor Steve Bullock of Montana or John Hickenlooper of Colorado.  But he also notes that the Democratic Party will never again have two white guys at the top of the ticket (President and Vice-President).

I would agree with that assessment.  Democrats aren't going to win going left of Hillary.  If the Democrats moved to the middle, I think they could pick up a large number of Independents and moderate, educated Republicans who are scared by Trump.

I think it's all self-serving political theater to please constituents and position for future opportunities.  Cavanaugh's going to get the seat - the hearings are a formality.
The basic objection I've seen has been, "OMG, he's a conservative."  Of course, what do you expect?  He doesn't seem particularly evil.  It's going to be interesting to see what actually happens to Roe vs. Wade.
Now the Republicans do deserve to get screwed out of a SCOTUS pick, since they got away with stealing the Merrick Garland nomination from the Dems.
