A friend passed this to me....China wants Biden elected sooooo badly....

Ronnie Chan, CH Tung, Victor Fung..

I was asked about all three gents in subject line over last two weeks in terms of if people should deal with them on HK & PRC issues. - In other words, take their money.

All three are anti-democracy, and all three make no bones about it.  Asia Society is cooked because of Ronnie Chan, but just in case anyone doubted, and if your development guys are pushing money from him or anyone.  These stories are the real Ronnie Chan.  He will always say the right thing in private.  But these quotes are him.

But the pro-China money is making another push, and whether fairly or unfairly they are counting on a Biden win and a Biden team that will be much more easy to manipulate than the Trump team.

Anybody who’s on copy here is with an organization that I care about, and so I’m not busting anybody’s chops. But as we are about to see with the Biden joint at Penn, none of this China money is good & None of it stays hidden for long.

All the best and hope you all have a good thought for Hong Kong.

1/2 In an interview with Bloomberg, Ronnie Chan - co-chair of the @AsiaSociety and Hang Lung property group chief - said that those banned from #HongKong elections were "asking for it."

2/2 In response, @AsiaSociety  told HKFP: "The statements made by Ronnie Chan were not made on behalf of or in connection with Asia Society.  We would refer you to him for questions about his views. Asia Society does not take official positions on issues."

As an aside, DO NOT use or let family members use Tik-Tok.  There is a reason the US military banned it.

i hope it's sooner than later the general population realizes we're in a war with china... that china is playing a heavy role in the unrest here... that there is and never will be anything good that comes from placating them... unless you're benefiting directly from them, and that doing so makes you an enemy of our nation just as bad as china...

we speak of pedophilia rings of the rich and famous... we speak of spy-gate and benghazi...  we speak of riots presented as protests and of covid19... meanwhile, the inescapable and factual goes without acknowledgement, and that is our own elected have been selling us out to china as fast as they can deposit the checks.

China cracking down....

Key points:
  • Police arrest Jimmy Lai, his two sons and four senior staff over alleged violations of the national security law and fraud
  • Cheung Kim-hung, CEO of Next Digital, Apple Daily’s parent company, and CFO and COO Chow Tat-kuen among those arrested
  • Former student activist Agnes Chow and two others arrested in another sweep in the afternoon
  • Jimmy Lai’s top aide, Mark Simon, who was not in the city, sought by Hong Kong police
  • Soon after the arrests, more than 200 police officers raid the newspaper’s headquarters in Tseung Kwan O
  • Senior Superintendent Steve Li Kwai-wah, from the new national security unit, pledges not to search the paper’s editorial department or disrupt its operations
  • Head of the Hong Kong Journalists Association calls search of press outlet on such a large scale unprecedented

They sent in 200 officers to arrest a few journalists:

Not a single Democrat banned.  I guess China considers the Democratic Party to be on their side....I thought Democrats used to be strong supporters of Human Rights?  Not so much anymore...sad.
