You worship at the altar of Government and refuse to accept its ruling? Talk about double standards.

Seems you are the one holding a grudge. Let it go man! No reason to feel guilty about living in a white, Christian enclave. You earned it.

Based on your moral high ground, which statues should stay? Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, Kennedy, MLK?

My comments seem to have hit a nerve. Maybe you should reflect on why?

D'ja ever wonder if maybe you don't have the best comprehension skills, and maybe you interpret things the way you want to interpret them?

"You weren't insulting the people of the south in general and the people of Tennessee in particular...you were just misunderstood"

Again, you can't provide even one example to back up your point.

Sorry, but that's the only real way to score points in a debate.  Ignoring counterpoints and just declaring yourself right while insulting your opponent only shows the weakness of your position and of your character.

"I always enjoy your rambling excuses...good for my morning laugh"

Good luck finding an example of me rambling.

Oh, but if you really want a good laugh, check out how I tied up the harvestal virgin into a knot of ideological self-contradiction and hypocrisy in this thread.

Ben Hunt:

http://www.epsilontheory.com/notes-from-the-field/always-go-to-the-funeral/

SNIP:
Case in point: the current “debate” about Confederate war memorials. In truth, there is no debate about Confederate war memorials. No one cares about Confederate war memorials. There is no “Southern identity” associated with Robert E. Lee statues. You know who thinks that Southerners care deeply about these statues? New York City real estate developers who know nothing about the South, but think that this is what motivates us dumb hicks, that’s who. A month ago, you could have taken down any of these statues and you’d get three wackos holding signs outside the city administration office and an angry letter from the local chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy. I mean, it’s not like you’re canceling an SEC football game … there’s your Southern pride.
But frame the issue in terms of “THEY are coming to take your statues away from you”, show some pics of Antifa goons and campus goofballs, and absolutely people are going to care. Hell, these pictures make me care, and I’d get rid of the statues tomorrow if I could.
If getting rid of the statues is framed as capitulating to these idiots — and that’s exactly the narrative that’s been created — then every elected Republican in the South who wants to stay in office must now come out in favor of keeping the damn statues. They must be seen as opposing the idiot outsiders who are DEMANDING something that no one cared about a month ago, because that’s what it means to play a Competition Game.
Conversely, every elected Democrat in the South who wants to stay in office must now take action to dismantle the statues. Because otherwise you’re capitulating to thesevery fine people idiots.
Just like the incumbent Republicans, incumbent Democrats must be seen as opposing the idiot outsiders who are DEMANDING something that no one cared about a month ago, because that’s what it means to play a Competition Game.
You hear all the time about how these Trump tweets and the associated narrative construction are a “dog whistle” that motivates and calls forth the alt-right clowns. Okay. I guess. But what the tweets and the narrative really are — and this is what Steve Bannon understands perfectly — is a dog whistle for the Democrats and an obedience collar for the Republicans. It creates a Competition Game where none existed before, and it forces every elected politician, regardless of party, to play their appointed role, strutting and fretting upon the stage. Even though none of them like the script and none of them want to play the part.

Anyone who has bred dogs or any other animals knows that you can't breed siblings because they are mentally unstable and crazy as hell.

You can't train or teach them to do anything they are unable to learn and are usless for what ever purpose they were intended.

That may be what we are dealing with here since fuzzy comes from a state where incest is legal.

That's a good article, HK.  Plenty to agree with there.

But if you strip away all the Left's self-righteousness and the Right's wrong-headed defensiveness, you're still left with monuments that never should have been erected celebrating the wrong side.

Since you're having a difficult time expaining why you haven't made a habit of insulting people in Tennessee...let me help you out.

" I never insulted the people of Tennessee"

Translation : "
I only  call people of Tennessee rednecks and ignorant if they don't agree with my progressive/socialist ideology"

There!!!
I think we would all agree that the clarity in that statement is much easier to understand.

I'm sorry, Roady, when I asked for actual examples to support your accusations, I meant they had to come from me - that you're not allowed to make things up.

Dan's been doing that a lot lately, too.  Is that a new rightwing meme?

How can you continue to deny something that almost everyone knows is true?

Good thing you don’t resort to insults to make your salient points?
Care to explain my self-contradiction and hypocrisy?

Maybe you should spend your resources rallying the good folks of Franklin to remove this statue that offends you so?

Most of our country’s citizens with an IQ north of 90 accept that the Civil War is a part of our HISTORY (as in the past). Maybe you should as well?
BTW, you never answered my question concerning which statues should be removed and why. Is Lincoln an immoral traitor?

So many monuments to remove and so little time.

The monument pictured below, in Canton, Mississippi, was built to honor local African Americans who fought for the Confederate States of America with the Harvey Scouts (cavalry), in defense of their Southern homeland. Specifically mentioned is Willis Howcott, a local black man who gave his life while fighting the invading Union army.
The 21-foot high granite obelisk, stands in a residential area on Academy Street, in front of a cemetery. It was built in the 1890s with funds provided by William Hill Howcott. The inscription includes these words: “A tribute to my faithful servant and friend, Willis Howcott, a colored boy of rare loyalty and faithfulness, whose memory I cherish with deep gratitude.”

He can't admit it becuase he really doesn't believe he's insulted any of us.
With Fuzz's limited communication skills ...calling Tenneseans backward rednecks is just they way they communicate.
I feel sorry for the guy....he's apparently stuck in a culture he's just not equipped to cope.
Perhaps we should start a "Get Fuzz Out of Tennessee Fund" :72:

Good grief....are you really stupid enough to think people have forgotten how you started this thread?.You start this thread off with an insult then deny ever insulting anyone later in the very same thread.

"My first thought was that since the majority supports the monument for a variety of wrong-headed reasons, maybe it should stand as a scarlet letter for the community.  Maybe Franklin deserves the statue - a badge of dishonor."
