They are weak conference and always have been weak. Watch the SEC go rogue and play the season anyway. That would be great. And, despite what the B1G claims, they won't allow winter/spring sports to be played. I feel bad for the guys who could've entered the draft as a high draft pick, but returned to school hoping to get the opportunity to get more film and improve their draft stick.

Bottom line...without a liability waiver the schools cannot afford to take a chance on dozens if not 100's of lawsuits.

They have TV contracts with ESPN and FOX Sports for six years worth 2.6 billion so more than likely they will still end up in court since the danger to those under 25 is very remote.

Probably see a lot of democrats and MSM start recanting some of their BS stories about the virus when their networks start losing millions of dollars in sponsor money when football games aren't played.

It looks as though the MSM as we used to say has shit in their mess kit.

Not so fast on BIG10 canceling season

https://twitter.com/secfootball/status/1292906949336395776?s=21

This reaction is why I always thought we would have a season.  All sports are playing and even foreign sports.  But college football is the most favorite sport. I think we play. And might even can see the slow10 play.

The result of having their bluff called?  No other conference took the bait?

They wanted to take their ball and make EVERYONE go home, and most everyone gave them the middle finger instead.  Sort of.

For now ….

Scott Frost says Nebraska 'prepared to look at any and all options,' including playing outside Big Ten

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29634231/scott-frost-says-nebraska-prepared-look-all-options-including-playing-big-ten

Nebraska football coach Scott Frost said Monday that the Cornhuskers are prepared to play this upcoming season -- even if it's outside the Big Ten.

"I know where our university president stands, and he wants to play," Frost said.

Nebraska estimates it would lose between $80 million and $120 million if the season isn't played

If we were to call it a "peaceful protest" instead of a "football game," then we should be good to go, right?

If teams want to play they still can just not play under the conference banner

Since the BIG 10 conference has ruled the season is canceled the schools who still want to play can come up with their own schedule.  Then they can keep ALL the money not having to send the BIG 10 conference a share of the revenue.

I can guaran damn tee you TV networks would be scampering to cut a deal for the games.
