I find it offensive that President Trump would say parts of Baltimore are Rat infested.

Rats are just another form of pet....The kind that carry the plague, but they're still cuddly.

Give em a bath and comb their hair, they're ready for a night on the town..

I heard CNN say the rats are friendly in Baltimore and President Trump is just being racist calling the rats a problem...

I see by the news Reverend Al Sharpton  is coming to Baltimore to show support for the slums....He says it is a good example of a Democrat run city... Go Big Al!

But he has a job.  If he's driving on disintegrating roads past abandoned storefronts and failing schools, he's probably living in a city run by Democrats.   And he's called a deplorable because he wants to change all that.

Most large cities are crap holes. It just happens to be that cities that have been run by Democrats are more likely to be bigger crap holes.

There was a time prior to the 90’s when Memphis was a decent city. Even won national awards but those days are long gone and have been since the day Willie Harrington took over. Memphis is just one shining example of many once upon a time decent cities that turned into a depths of hell disgrace once it fell into the hands of corrupt democrats.

My view of larger cities is that they have nice areas and really bad areas.  There often isn't much in between.

Boston was fairly nice, didn't like the weather.  San Francisco is fine with me, the weather is upside down often.  San Diego seemed nice enough what I saw of it.  DC is wonderful in places and awful in others, a lot of gentrification happening there.  Chicago is another example of that without the gentrification.

Philly, Miami, Dallas, Houston, all have nice spots and bad spots.

Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh: ‘You Can Smell the Rats’
« Reply #9 on: July 30, 2019, 09:53:27 AM »
Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh once expressed shock and disgust while touring run-down areas of the city. Now a resurfaced clip from 2018 shows the former mayor exclaiming “Whoa, you can smell the rats” and “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”

The video segment aired on Fox 45 last year and featured the former mayor touring a neighborhood in East Baltimore. She seemed surprised by the conditions of the area.
“What the hell? We should just take all this shit down,” she said as she viewed the run-down buildings.

“Whoa, you can smell the rats,” she continued, adding “Whew, Jesus” and “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”

Crime-Plagued Baltimore Received $1.8 Billion of Obama’s 2009 Stimulus
« Reply #10 on: July 30, 2019, 09:54:36 AM »

Baltimore received $1.8 billion from former President Barack Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), but the city has largely failed to see significant improvements from the massive investment.
The Obama administration allocated $1.8 billion of its 2009 stimulus to Baltimore, including $26.5 million to address crime prevention, $26 million to revamp abandoned properties, and $9.5 million to address homelessness.

fully agree.

the curiosity, though, is this is the precise opposite of the message given by progressive democrat's 'practicing' democratic socialism.  In their idea of utopia, all are equal.  It's also the exact condition the left accuses the right of- which is leaving people behind just because they don't want to work toward a goal gauged respectable by both groups, and within the scope of law while doing so.

it's time for folks to be judged by their actions, not their words.  <- that ought to be a no brainer.
